Baby Zetty forcefully squeezed out a smile and said, “Sometimes, letting go is also a type of love.” Finn stared at Baby Zetty in a daze and suddenly chuckled while saying, “You told us that you were never married, Granny. So I assume you’ve never met a person whom you’ll never be able to forget in your life. If you’ve truly loved before, you’ll know how difficult it is to let go of them.” Baby Zetty’s eyes turned crimson. How could she not know the feeling of loving someone? She loved Brother Finn more than her own life. If fate had not played tricks on her, how could she ever give up on him?

“You love this child—I can see it in the way you talk about them. So why would you walk away?” I didn’t answer immediately. Instead, I looked out the window again, at the forest that seemed so full of life and possibility. Maybe that’s what I wanted for my child—a life full of possibility, free from the shadow of my own insecurities and shortcomings.
