Levi’s POV: As I raced through the streets with the speed of my intermediate form, a sense of urgency propelled me forward. The unusual aura that surrounded the city library had set off alarm bells within me, an instinctual warning that something was amiss. Without hesitation, I abruptly left the meeting with my pack mates, my focus solely on uncovering the source of this disturbance. Arriving at the library, I stealthily maneuvered through the chaos, my heightened senses attuned to every sound and movement. The air crackled with an otherworldly energy, and my gaze swept through the room, searching for any sign of what had caused this disruption.

The original plan had been for everyone to hunker down in the front lobby at Garvey’s Hotel. A visit from Deputy Williamson had shot that plan all to hell. He built contingency plans for boardroom pushback, stress-tested financial models against sudden market crashes, and mentally rehearsed the quiet devastation of the day someone he cared about would inevitably walk away. Control had always been his quiet armor—anticipation his shield. He had never planned for this. It won’t be easy killing One.” I told him seriously and he smirked. “Nah.” He waved me off. “I don’t think it will be that difficult killing what is already dead…” ** Levi was confident— probably too confident but then maybe it was for his own good. One needed such resolve in such a dire period of fighting demons and real-life zombies. We were headed towards the Palace gates now— the gates were fallen so there was easy access for anyone.

As the guard went over the documents, he remained silent. With a swift glance in my direction, a wink, and a tap on the truck's bonnet, the guard returned the paperwork. "He knows!" Kaya yapped, making my breath hitch. Is he planning to unleash the warriors on us? Was he part of Levi's scheme? The guard went to his fellow guards and motioned for them to unlock the gate in a casual manner. Levi expressed his gratitude before driving away, leaving me stunned and gasping for air. How did he manage to do that?
