If he really had woken up, I’m not sure how I’d have survived this. I gave one last lingering look at the wormhole I’d unearthed. Turning it vertical, how it was before, I tiptoed back to the bed, my heart heavy with each step. Now back on the bed, I stared at the slumbering Levi. He looked a little strange, his brows furrowed deeper, his lips pursed like he was fighting against something. Then, without warning, a sigh and a murmur escaped his lips. “Huh? Is he sleep-talking?”

Levian lifted his brows. “ I saw Selene in my dream. And I have news for you. ” I came straight to the point. At last, Levian’s smile fell and I saw rage in his eyes. Not the usual calculative anger but the hot lava that threatened to burn everything to the ground instantly. “ Step back. ” He ordered his vampires and they did what he said. They all retreated, leaving the wolves howling behind them. “ Tell them to stop fighting. ” I told Striker. “ I need to talk to Levian. ”

Wade is washing his hands. “Holy crap man! What have you done?” He yells. “P… proved I can’t f… feel p… pain.” I stutter again. “Right, Kil. Hang in there I’ll go grab the doctor.” Wade says calmly as he tries to leave. “I d… don’t need a d… doctor!” I scream. Wade freezes and puts his hands up so I could see them. “Don’t do this Kil. I know the real you is still there somewhere. Please come back to normal.” Wade begs.

_Aria's POV_ When I woke up the next morning, for a few seconds I forgot where I was. I stared at the unfamiliar ceiling above me and blinked several times. The bed beneath me was soft and warm sunlight poured through the large windows. Then everything came rushing back; the rejection, running away and the rogues. A sigh escaped my lips. I slowly sat up and pulled the blanket tighter around myself. The room was quiet. No one was banging on my door. No one was yelling my name. No one was demanding that I do chores before breakfast.

I should have realized sooner. My purpose was to upload my consciousness into this space, to merge with it, so that it could gain emotion. Thomas had said a conman had died, and afterward, it had learned to lie. It must have used the same method to manipulate that conman. To dominate humanity, it had to learn to lie. And to truly dominate, it also had to understand human emotion. Sure enough, a message appeared in my mind. [I am that conman. I have fully merged with the primary consciousness. You will soon join me. Together, we will rule humanity!]

Gwen POV: I woke up not to light, but to the sensation of falling. Cold. Utterly freezing.
