The challenge ahead was daunting, and the consequences of failure were unthinkable. But as the first riddle echoed through the labyrinth, I couldn't shake the feeling that there was more to this twisted game than met the eye. And with each riddle we solved, the shadows seemed to grow darker, the maze more treacherous. As we ventured deeper into the labyrinth, the voice's laughter followed us like a sinister specter, driving us forward even as it filled us with a creeping sense of dread.

We shared ideas, dissected clues, and pieced together the fragmented puzzle of the secret society's true agenda. In one chamber, we encountered a riddle carved into the stone floor. Its cryptic message teased our minds, demanding not only knowledge but also lateral thinking. We wracked our brains, exploring every possible interpretation until, at last, the answer revealed itself. she whispered, her voice filled with confidence. The answer echoed through the forest, followed by a resounding silence. The stones beneath Lucia's paws shifted, forming a narrow path leading deeper into the darkness. She followed the trail, her senses heightened, ready for the next challenge. As she ventured further, the forest seemed to come alive, whispering secrets and testing her resolve. A second riddle floated through the air, taunting her intellect. "I can be cracked, made, told, and played. What am I?" Lucia's mind raced once again, dissecting the riddle with precision. "A joke," she exclaimed, her voice resonating with certainty.

But she felt determined to fulfill her mission first, to solve the riddle. A new roar arose from the bearbaiting stadium, and she turned and focused her attention back on it. She wondered if the answer to the riddle lay just beyond its walls. She turned to Caleb. "What do you think?" she asked. “Should we see what it's about?” Caleb looked hesitant. “The riddle did mention a bridge,” he said, “and a bear. But my senses are telling me something else. I'm not quite sure—” Suddenly, Ruth growled, then took off, sprinting away.

No other organs. I had my eyes closed tightly and then noticed the silence in my cell. I slowly opened my eyes and looked at Rana and Megera, who looked at me with expectant gazes. They trusted me to solve this. I looked away from them, away from their faces, and looked around at the other cells. Everybody was busy thrashing their rooms. Some were trying to climb their cells, some were fighting with each other. All these demons just.. I snapped my head back to my teammates. The riddle says what. Not who. It's a thing. It's an item. An item that's here somewhere. Hearts.. Hearts...

What am I? “I know you fucking lying, what kind of bull shit is this?” Kymoni said under her breath. Essence was also frowning at the riddle, she never really got into riddles. Her mind is always on go so a riddle would have her not sleeping for days until she can figure it out without looking it up. She glanced at Kymoni who was just shaking her head at the riddle. She glanced at Jazz and Syncere and saw the girl excitedly writing stuff down. “Fuck it, let's get this shit over with. What are your ideas on how to do this shit?” Essence asked Unique who was smiling at her.

But then my eyes move down the list. Kelly Blackwell. My stomach drops. No. It can't be. Fucking no.

Marinetta's scroll read: "I speak without a mouth and hear without ears. I have nobody, but I come alive with the wind. What am I?" She pondered the riddle, her mind racing. After a moment, she smiled. "An echo," she whispered, and the scroll glowed brightly, the words rearranging to form a key. Harley's scroll presented a different challenge: "I can be cracked, made, told, and played. What am I?" He furrowed his brow, thinking deeply. "A joke," he said confidently, and the scroll responded in kind, forming another key. Seraphina's scroll was the most complex: "I am not alive, but I grow. I do not have lungs, but I need air. I do not have a mouth, but water kills me. What am I?"

I read the next riddle which was given by Katarina, and just like my family, they were forbidden to give me any hints. "Middle of April and March?" I thought out loud and I was aware how they were patiently waiting for my answer. "Uhm, 15? No, no. That doesn't make sense. March, April... ah, 'r'! They both have the letter 'r' in the middle!" The twins' brothers clapped at me while the couple congratulated me and Henry gave me the envelope containing the clue and the last location.

My companion nods grimly, eyes fixed on the foreboding lock. 3 minutes and 9 seconds left "That riddle was our key," Scarlett replies, "Now, let's help each other as we turn the dials to the matching symbols," With her words, I lean closer, studying the engraved markings as my companion does the same. One by one, we slowly rotate each ring, matching up the ciphers based on our best guesses. The symbols seem nonsensical, hailing from no language I recognize. They also seem to shift and change as I try to focus on them, making it nearly impossible to decipher their meaning.
