I pressed the blade of my knife to the flesh connecting her ear to her head. “Make no mistake, Lilith. Lying to me will only worsen your situation,” I spat, and she nodded, trembling with fear. “Talk.” She swallowed hard, lowering her gaze to the floor. “It’s a mythical creature that was created from both celestial magic and darkness. Due to its terrifying bloodlust, it was sealed in oblivion by the goddess of light.” She bit her lower lip, shifting slightly. “It awakens every eclipse to possess the body of its vessel.”

There are harpies, ruled by the Harpy Queen, Orcs led by the Orc Lord, and even griffins protected by the Griffin King.” Delores answered smoothly, her expression unchanged as she spoke of the monarchs of the various races. Klie didn’t find her disinterest surprising given that she was someone that regarded dragons are mere lizards. How could such a person care about orcs and harpies. What Kylie did find interesting though were the griffins.

I didn’t pay attention to most of it but the group kept asking them questions. “So we’re not werewolves, just shapeshifters. And there were many tribes of shapeshifters.
