He asked and placed his forearms on the small round wooden table between them – still unaware of the truth. How was Faith doing? She was miserable. She was tired. She hasn’t slept properly in days. And most of all she is scared. She is scared that someone is going to hurt her. She is miserable without her family – she misses them. She misses them so much – every night she cries until her tears dry out. Every day she changes her location, just in case someone does come looking for her. The fear is always around her.

Turning to the functioning laptop beside him ,he stole a glance at the sound buttons before he began to type. ¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶ Fear, that horrid emotion that weakens one, subjects one to levels below that one would never have succumbed to. It was surprising how it was easily acquired;by the loudest of sounds, by the slightest of sounds and by even no sound at all. It had stunned the children, shaken them to their bone marrows.

I looked at his face with a frown, "You, sir, do not know how to dance." He folded his arm across his chest, pretending to hurt, "what's your biggest fear?" A faint smile appeared when I whispered, "I can't say that; it's quite stupid." He reached, and he held my hand, looking into my eyes, "Try me." Shutting my eyes, I murmured, "Open water gives me the creeps, and spiders, makes my body crawl, and having a zit at the middle of my forehead." He nodded as if approving them all, "Well, mine should be not having this dance before you finally leave us for good."

I looked fine but I was a little pale, maybe I could add some color to my cheeks, a little blush or something. “Is it a fashion show?” my brows shot up at the sound of his voice. “Sorry?” I needed to be sure he said what I heard. Or maybe I have lost my mind. Sitting in silence for days would do that to a person. I guess I can now add it to my list of fears. Being watched and forced to remain silent. It will fit right in with my fear of airplanes landing and takeoff, and that of thunderstorms. This fear, at least, could be explained.

I’m not sure why I feel so scared of the men. “Hey, I’m Stephanie. You can call me Steph. I’m sorry my brother and his friends scared you. They meant to help, but they are idiots. Can we help you? This is Vera and Bessa. What’s your name?” she asks. The three of them seem so sweet and genuine. I think I can trust them. I sit up and wipe my face. “Um. Sage. Sage Wright,” I shrug. At least I remember my name. Everything else is a mixed-up jigsaw puzzle.

I just shrugged my shoulder and said, “Reading a lot really helps. Try it.” He smiled and shook his head. “No, thanks.” I smiled. “Overall, fear of public speaking, heights and bugs are the biggest phobia. That’s in America. Twenty-five percent says they fear speaking in front of the crowd.” “Oh,” Pino chuckled. “Even me. I always fear public speaking,” he said, scratching his head. “Clowns are officially scarier than ghosts, but zombies are scarier than both,” I added as I barely laughed. “Yeah right? Zombies, my ass,” he smirked. “Well, Levi... how does... um...”

Brad responded, and he held my hand as we moved slowly. I was more anxious at the moment. I knew we were already at the land of fear and as we were moving further and deeper into the land, anything scary could come up. I still felt insecure, despite the fact that Brad was with me. What was I going to do if something huge comes our way? Just run? Or what if Brad felt that he was too slow because of me, and then decided to leave me. “Don't think too much about your fears. The land of fear can sense each and everyone of them, and can develop it to be used against you. After all, our fears make us back out easily.” Brad said, and drew me closer to his side.

It seemed like such a simple thing, but I felt like I was staring down a bottomless pit. Forcing a laugh, I tried to brush it off. "Me? Fears? Nah, not really. Snakes maybe, those creepy scales give me the chills. But if there's one thing that really turns my stomach inside out, it's love. Hate that shit." I shiver with fright and I feel her pain crawling into underneath my skin and bones. As my assistant works on the details, a familiar dread begins to creep in.
