Chapter 1 Little Li Han, the smallest shrimp in his class, had claimed the absolute perfect spot under the big shady tree at the edge of the playground. He sat there cross-legged with his favorite picture book balanced on his knees, the colorful pages open to the part where the brave little fish discovers the secret coral cave.

Sent a big wave of shivers slithering down your spine like a snake. "And this is my room." You silently gawk at the size of the bedroom, eyes roaming through every corner until they stop at the beautiful chandelier hanging just at the center of the ceiling. An astonishing smile unknowingly plasters your lips. The pretty sequence looks like stars from down there. Zale’s heart flips. "Just wait until you see my toys." You move your eyes to the cute kid-sized castle resting at the corner of the room. Sprawled around its space were another bunch of different types of toys.

They did get an information too that there will be no S level or Sotiras heroes who would come on eliminating them, so they were unscrupulous at picking the humans all at once running for their life like ants. “Ha-ha. Eat! Tiny Little Humans!” one of the monsters weird voice sending shivers down to the running humans as they desperately run for their lives. Monsters laughter rang out as they also deliberately run their feet, shaking the ground that is stable a while ago when the monsters comparable to that of a mini giant just used their big feet to walk.

Really pretty. "Danika," I reply, shaking her hand. Her skin is very cool. The thought creeps in before I can stop it. What if she's not human either? The classroom suddenly feels too small, too loud, and too bright. My pulse quickens. Ever since Kaziel came into my life, the lines between reality and impossible have blurred so much that I can't tell what's real anymore. It's like the supernatural cracked something open in my brain, and now, even when I'm surrounded by humans, I can't stop seeing monsters.

Three years of midnight feedings, nightmare chasing, and storytelling. Three years of being everything to him while I'd been an ocean away, building an empire I had thought mattered. "Bad dreams about what?" I asked, moving closer despite myself. Caesar considered this seriously, his little face scrunched in concentration. "Monsters," he said finally. "Big scary ones that want to take Mama away." My chest tightened. "That sounds terrible." "But Mama's magic milk makes them go away," he added, taking another sip. "And her stories about brave muffins."

It was all over the news, so it seemed weird to have gone unnoticed, but no one could explain where they'd come from or why they were attacking us. That was the day I had lost everything. The monsters started appearing everywhere. They attacked our neighbors' houses without warning. Some died, some ran away, others hid inside. I tried to get my family out of the house too, but I was a child and there was nowhere left to run. We ended up barricading ourselves inside our home. There was nothing else we could do. But then the monsters came. They were big, really, really big. Maybe three times the size of a human—but I think they looked even bigger because of how small we were compared to them.

I crouched down to pick them up but I froze when I thought I saw someone at the corner of my eyes passing by the open door of the dining room. Peeking my head out from behind the counter, I looked towards the door and frowned when I saw no one. Maybe I imagined it? Confused, I stared at the door for a few more seconds before I looked back down at the grapes. This entire scenario felt very familiar. Chills ran down my spin as I recalled a thirteen year old me walking around the house at night, unaware of the monsters following me with their eyes. I shook my head as hard as I could to try and get the memory out of my head.

Hodor has led their way. The light from the sun has filtered through the high window. The pattern that it creates revealed one huge indescribable monster imprisoned in the cage raised a meter above the ground. On the left side is an array of huge iron cage stuffed with numerous monsters. Most of them have huge sharp teeth ready and hungry to devoure anything; few got wings, but all of them are large monsters that could squeeze a house into the ground.
