His head resting along my shoulder. I knew I needed to get home. Knew my mother would be worried. But I was too tired to object to him sleeping. Nothing beyond this moment seemed real. For all I know he may be able to rewind time. Or wipe their memories of any trace of himself. Without further thought, darkness swallowed me, and I gave in to slumber. *** The nightmare I had was one of the most horrifying, I’d ever experienced. I was in the WitchFall dungeon. Surrounded by women who hung from the chains and ropes and on the racks. Their faces contorted in silent anguished screams.

he teases. “You've got me," I say with a smile. "I just needed to get some fresh air.” I do manage to fall asleep eventually, but it’s restless, punctuated by nightmares. The last one is the worst. One of the dead children opens his milky eyes and stares accusation at me. “You did this,” he whispers to me, his voice dry and scratchy. “You let my daddy kill me.” I wake with a soft cry. The guards in the front seats twitch and stop snoring, but they don’t ask any questions. The sun is about to come up anyway, and this time I really need to pee.

I jumped onto the bed, pulling the blankets around me, and closed my eyes. Sleep came easily, and with it, the dreams. Vivid, strange dreams that danced through my mind like fragments of a forgotten story. Faces I couldn’t quite recognize, voices that seemed familiar yet distant. I dreamed of Chloe, of her tear-streaked face and the fear that gripped her. I dreamed of Chris, of his lifeless body on the ground, the blood pooling around him. And I dreamed of the message Chloe had received, the one that had terrified her so much.

SAN FRANSISCO - KLEIN'S MANSION Charvie's body trembled, her eyebrows furrowed, and her eyes squeezed shut as she tossed and turned in bed. "Alle... fucking let me get into the hospital!" Charvie panted out of her nightmare, her heart racing like a wild animal. The bed sheets beneath her drenched with sweat. As she slowly got herself back, she reminded herself it was just a dream. Yet, the memory of it lingered, haunting her. Why must she have this crazy nightmare every night?

Chapter 126: Haunting Shadows Hana’s body stirred restlessly beneath the thin sheet, her breaths shallow and rapid as she fell deeper into the abyss of her nightmare. The moonlight that filtered through the window barely reached her, casting faint shadows across the room. But in her mind, the darkness was much more overwhelming—an unrelenting void filled with ghosts of her past.

“But don’t let it blind you. That’s how they win.” Then he turned, leaving me alone on the bed as he sank into the chair by the window. ***** It was midnight, and at some point, exhaustion dragged me under. But even in sleep, there was no escape. The nightmare found me quickly. My parents lay there again, sprawled lifeless on the floor, the dark stain of their blood creeping toward me. Their open eyes seemed to follow me as I stumbled back, whispering apologies they couldn’t hear. Then, from the corner of the room, a figure emerged—a silhouette darker than the shadows around it. It moved closer, its voice curling through the air like smoke.

“It’s okay, buddy. You’re safe. It was just a dream.” “But what if it wasn’t a dream? What if Mia really can’t hear me calling for her?” I pulled Ivan into my lap, feeling how his small body shook against mine. These nightmares were getting worse, not better, and his distress went far beyond normal childhood fears. “Ivan, tell me about the dream.” “We were in a big dark place, like a forest, and I could hear Mia crying somewhere but I couldn’t see her. I kept yelling ‘I’m sorry! I’m sorry!’ but she couldn’t hear me because the wind was too loud.”

Chapter 24 Ella's POV: Another day another nightmare. Lately, sleep has been hard, it's like I'm trying to hold on, to grasp something that's not there. I'm drowning and can't catch my breath. My dreams are nightmares dragging me down so deep that I don't have the power to open my eyes.
