Anita I jolt awake from a nightmare, breathing rapidly. As I look around my surroundings, I remember I'm in the hospital. Raven lay next to me, asleep with her head wrapped and casts on her left arm and leg. Tears well in my eyes from relief that my nightmare was wrong. She's alive, not dead. My nightmares usually consist of the truth, they usually consist of the tragic night five years ago. I find myself lightly tracing over her lips until those green eyes meet mine. One look in mine and I know she can see something is bothering me.

But deep down, I knew that the memory of her, all sweaty and breathing hard, would stick with me long after the lights went out. And As usual, I couldn't catch a wink of sleep that night. The whole evening had left me feeling all jumpy and on edge, and no matter how hard I tried, sleep just wouldn't come. But when I finally managed to doze off, it was like stepping straight into a nightmare. Those damn nightmares from five years back came flooding in, hitting me like a ton of bricks. It was that same old night when I was being chased through the woods by those hunter wolves Alpha Jackson sent after me.

Chapter 54 It was a terrifying dream about Nathan. He was on the ground and his hands were bound. There was blood on his face and his shirt. Shadows moved around him, shadows of men, I couldn’t see their faces but their figures screamed of brutality. They kicked him, punched him, dragged him up just to throw him down again. I screamed his name, but my voice didn’t reach him. I ran forward, but the space between us stretched like an endless hallway, no matter how fast I moved. I tried to save him but I couldn’t.

The room was dark when I woke up from thrashing on the bed. I had unconsciously tried to jerk my right leg, and it shot bolts of pain up my thigh and down to my toes. My nightmares were now a mix of the car crash with my family and the one with Kat. I hated it. Kat’s bed stirred. I heard her exhale deeply before the bedside light opened, and a low glow filled the room. “It’s getting worse, Liv. Do you want me to call my brother? You don’t have nightmares when he’s with you.”
