I asked. "Well, tell me what they are about?" Hector replied as he stood up and grabbed one of the books off the nightstand. "What about this one?" he asked, holding up Alec, the Lycan King, who was my ultimate love. I took a breath as my face flushed before I began explaining the book as quickly as possible. "Umm, it's basically 50 Shades of Gray meets Twilight," I sighed as I shrugged my shoulders. Hector looked at me perplexed; it was obvious that he was not understanding what I was saying.

Brett growls at Lugh for touching his mate. “Brett I need to touch her to help her!” Lugh snaps at Brett. Brett, Oliver and myself watch as Lugh places a hand on Willow’s forehead, then on her palm and finally on her heart. Brett roars at Lugh’s hand placed on top of Willow’s chest. Lugh rolls his eyes at Brett before his eyes turn red and he whispers an incantation. Moments tick by where we stand in silence too scared to breathe in case we distract Lugh.

His voice is deep and smooth, with a hint of gravel that made it impossible to ignore. I should hate him. I definitely shouldn't like him but-... "Err...I'm not sure if I should read this out loud..." I look at Logan and narrow my eyes. "Why not? You started reading me this romance book, and now I have to know how it ends," I say, even though I couldn't care less about the book. I just want to keep hearing Logan's voice. Logan scratches his head. "Um, okay...but it's kind of...graphic."

Luke yells at us, clearly showing his distaste with our public display of affection. My dad and the warriors finally make it back and shift. Logan hands everyone some gym shorts and they change while panting heavily. “Alpha Lawrence, Beta George. I went to the woods and followed the scent of a Rogue. I believe it is ex Alpha Shane from the Knight Moon Pack. From the sound of the howl I think he felt his mate’s death through the bond, even after rejection.”

And unlike the other man who just walked in, he gives me a friendly smile. “Voodoo, thank you for coming,” Argent mutters cordially. His gaze traverses over all of the men in the room as he gestures toward me. “Gentlemen, I’d like to introduce you to Penelope,” Argent mutters. “Penelope, this is Logan, aka Hades, Voodoo, Shadow, and Phoenix.” At a loss at what to say, I wave at the men who smile back. The tall, dark man, Logan, steps forward and extends an elegant hand. Argent had mentioned him several times, so I don’t feel as intimidated about meeting him.

“Harper.” Lila’s voice is closer now. Grounded. Real. I blink, finally pulling myself back into the room. She’s standing right in front of me, her arms crossed, her expression somewhere between concerned and furious. “What. Was. That?” she asks slowly. I swallow. “That,” I say, my voice quieter than I want it to be, “was Logan’s dad.” Her eyes widen. “His dad?” “Yeah.” “The hockey captain Logan?” I nod. “The one you—”

"You could have given us the heads up before Liam trashed the whole house." "It's quite alright, Seth. I'll have everything replaced." "Wow," Seth gasped. "The life of an old rich man. But on a side note, I was rooting for Edward. I felt Logan go around me, wrap an arm around me, pulling me against his chest. "Baby girl, I wouldn't start." He whispered next to my ear, giving a warning tone.

"One more thing. Lily Brogan is an amazing she-wolf. You will come to regret your actions towards her, and when you do, you should know that I will be watching with popcorn. Good day.” Before I could say anything else —or even process the full ramifications of what he just said or what had just happened— Alpha Brett left, leaving me alone with Dr. Hyder.

“I like you too. Maybe one day I’ll get to train you. I think you could be stronger than your dad.” I watched through the light waves as his little body did a couple body builder poses and I fell on my butt, laughing. This kid was cute and funny. “See you around!” I waved goodbye. Hector put his hand down and pulled me back up. “Leandra, I don’t want this to happen again. Don’t come over here.” “Who is she?” She asked, obviously upset. Logan took a deep breath. “I’m not going to ask you again.” I could feel his Alpha presence seep out and everyone shifted a little bit.
