No Longer His Convenient Wife

No Longer His Convenient Wife

He stepped through the gate like he was entering a contamination zone. The chickens immediately flocked to him, clucking and pecking at his shoes. He froze. “They’re just curious,” I said, biting back a smile. One of them—Rosie, the Rhode Island Red—hopped up onto a nesting box and tilted her head at him. Sebastian stared back. “You need to reach into the box and take the eggs,” I said. “I’m not putting my hand in there.” “Why not?” “Because I don’t know what’s in there.”

Phoenix Egg for a Pheasant’s Egg

Phoenix Egg for a Pheasant’s Egg

The crack began to widen. Everyone was elated to see this. It was what they came for: a phoenix was about to be born! Underneath the collective attention of the audience, a faint chirp emerged from underneath the shell. Before anyone could figure out what was happening, a pheasant's head popped out of the shell. "A pheasant? Where's the phoenix?!"

True love's first kill

True love's first kill

I grab what Ri'elle needs, then I race back up the hallway towards the west tower. "I have the lighter, the bowl, mixer, and sage." I tell Ri'elle as I walk in. Micheal and Ansel arrive a few moments later laden down with their first round of chickens. Ansel has 8 chickens each in one of the small cages, and Micheal has the portable pop up larger cage as well as 4 chickens. I take the pop up cage and quickly set it up.

The Beta's Scarred Mate: A Loner to Luna Prequel

The Beta's Scarred Mate: A Loner to Luna Prequel

There were two lounge chairs with a small table between them. I leaned over the railing as best I could and started hearing a clucking noise. I turned to Selene, “Do we have chickens?” She laughed as she answered, “You do. You will need eggs, and these ladies should provide just enough for each day. When you walk around outside, you will see them.” I smiled, “Thank you. I love farm fresh eggs.” She smiled, “These are free range chickens. If you are still here when the snow falls, you will probably have to feed them, but not now. There are plenty of bugs and worms for them to eat in the yard right now.” I sighed, “Hopefully, we won’t still be here by then. But if it’s still as fun as it looks

Slave to the Wolf King

Slave to the Wolf King

Just a little push of compulsion, only to do something they’d already do for themselves. The power pulsed and three of the chickens jerked, flapping and clucking, then started across the grass towards the length of shadow I’d urged them to find shelter in. But two remained on the patch where the grass was thin, the ground was still damp from overnight rain, and they were clearly finding bugs or worms to eat. Pressing my lips thin,I added a push to the power and the fourth chicken jerked it’s head up with a cluck, then started after the others. Which only left one.

I love this book so much! It’s so beautifully & powerfully written! I love the profound depth of the characters and how they transform. It is also incredibly hot! There are so many chapters, but every chapter is integral to the storyline and the growth of the characters!

honestly one of the best stories on this site. i don’t understand how it’s not at the top of the lists. it’s original, descriptive, the characters are well fleshed out and multi-faceted. the love scenes aren’t cringe inducing teen fantasy garbage. i haven’t read her bother stories but will now

Mastering Charlotte

Mastering Charlotte

"What do I do?" "Just scatter it on the ground out in the yard and make chuck-chuck noises. The girls will come running." It sounds easy enough. Jennifer goes out into the yard with the corn, chucking as she goes. Sure enough, chickens come shooting in from all directions, wings raised and flapping, and feathery skirts lifted in a race to be the first to the spot. She startles at the rush, then smiles, scattering handfuls of the corn in all directions, enjoying the antics of the birds and the novelty of something accepting food from her.

Pretending with the Billionaire

Pretending with the Billionaire

Mia's POV My family was up early this morning doing chores per my mother’s orders. She had Allie sweeping the porch, Amber doing the dishes from breakfast, and me feeding the chickens with her out back. My mother grew up on a farm, and having chickens reminded her of home. She passed me a bucket of feed as she quickly unlatched the fence that kept all the chickens in the coop.

His Mate, His Son, His Regret

His Mate, His Son, His Regret

The sparks soon escalated to us dry humping on the floor, his hard length pressing deliciously against my heat in a different rhythm. It doesn’t take long until we are christening both offices. Max POV “Gi-paw! Peeps! Peeps!” Aly squeals, running around the enclosed coop while trying to catch one of the chickens. The damn birds are disgusting, but the kids love them. Marvel has a rooster under one arm, scolding him for pecking at his feet, and Aly is trying to get a fluffy white one to hug her. I grabbed another, much calmer chicken, and carried it over to Aly so she could pet her with my help.

Apocalypse: Rebirth With An Infinite Storage System

twenty in total and the adult ones were eighty locked in a different cage. And just as expected, Lila ran straight toward them, carefully picking one of the chicks up with both hands. "Mommy, it's fur is so soft!" she squealed. "I want to name them. They'll be living with us afterall." Yeah. Till they grow and we eat them. Ivy thought inwardly as she swallowed hard. Roasted chickens Fried chicken...

The Alpha's Freakshow

The Alpha's Freakshow

Chickens are little and broody, and annoying with their tiny little beady eyes. Eyes that stare and plan and calculate how and when to turn into their human form and annihilate me. I stop and breathe deeply. I am a badass. I am strong. I am a warrior. Kind of. Ok, I’m not really any of those things. But I’m bigger than a chicken so I can do this.

Just finished reading this for the second time. It is such a great, well-written book! It is a wonderful departure from the "normal" werewolf story. It is truly one of a kind. I also especially love the raw emotions and character development.

I enjoyed this book but I felt the issue with his brother was left unresolved...not sure if that's going to be a separate book or not. abe was supposed to have a meeting with Wade but we didn't find out what happened. I will continue reading the wonderful books written by this author
