Something stirs in the shadows ahead, and I freeze, my heart pounding. I stopped walking when I reach the last shelf. I then craned my neck, scanning the upper right corner. At first I see nothing but more children's books, but then somewhere deep down here, tucked behind a row of chapter books, I suddenly spotted a thin volume, its spine facing outward. My eyes then land on a nondescript black book, tucked away and barely visible. I stretch up on my toes and pull it out, and seconds later I succeeded like I always do when I put my mind on things.

I asked, terrified as I looked at the picture. “Look at the picture, Adrian. Tell me what you see.” Thalia grabbed my phone, and then her eyes went wide. “OH. MY. GODDESS.” “What?” I asked. Aiden came behind me and cursed under his breath. “Isaiah, where was this taken?” “Northwest. Another human city. I’ll send you and Adrian the address.” “Can someone fill me in? What do you see in this picture?” Thalia looked at me like I was stupid. “She is holding her stomach, Adrian. She is probably pregnant.”

But I wouldn't—not for a long while now. Even so, Sophie raised her hand so that her ring could gleam on her finger as she sighed. "Of course! How could I ever forget about our promise?" Seeing that I wasn't responding, Mark leaned over and gave Sophie a peck on the cheek, sighing affectionately. "You look so beautiful today…" Sophie lowered her head shyly, as the hormones between them flared like animals in heat. However, Mark's face turned pale when he saw that I had turned to look outside the window, unaffected no matter how much he flirted with Sophie.

For a minute I thought I saw something in his eyes but before I could decipher, it was gone. "Gabby..." His words held surprise in them. He wasn't expecting me. He looked nice, neatly shaved as usual. I stared at those same eyeballs that drove me insane, that made me loose my senses whenever I stare at them, not minding if he noticed what I was doing. "Are you going to talk or come inside?" He asked. I shake myself off those feelings and smiled. "Let's talk inside. I sat down on Liam's couch waiting for him. He returned a minute later with water and juice in his hands.

I know where I'm going, I just don't know what I need. I hear movement. I duck under an empty desk. A man in a lab coat walks by. When he walks by, I move again. Turning from the white halls to blue halls. I look in the rooms as I pass by. Cold tables with bloody rags on them. I look on the walls of these rooms and see the claw marks of desperate wolves. I close my eyes to not look at the familiarity of it. Finally, I come to the hall I need. I stop at the corner pressing myself against the wall. I peek around to see where the security guard is. He's looking at his phone. Guarding the doors.

Rosemary’s Pov “I will eat later…” I say softly , offering him a smile. He exchanges a look with Xavier , but I do not stay for the lectures that I know is coming. Instead I walk to the entrance and sit on the floor in a crossed legged position – my eyes fixated on the fiery red flames that almost touches the sky. I sit out there for a while , enjoying the peace of being alone. At this moment , all I ever want is to be alone. I would often feel my stomach kick me with hunger , as my nose smelt the food that was cooking but I easily turned my attention back to the burning kingdom.

The guard saw her like that and wanted to give her a hand, but she didn't need it, so the two only dared to stand and look at her. Anne leaned against the wall and walked with heavy steps.

Just as I was about to strike back, a sharp roar stopped Emily in her tracks. I turned to see Ryan striding towards us, followed by four well-dressed bodyguards. The ferocious Emily immediately turned docile, like a kitten, with no trace of anger left in her. Ryan walked up to me. His eyes were filled with concern when he saw the blood on my forehead. He quickly reached for a handkerchief to wipe it off. I immediately pulled back, and my bestie stepped forward without hesitation, blocking in front of me. She glared at Ryan with a sharp, unfriendly look.
