Lost Moon Novels & Stories

He gulps the last of his water, crushes the empty bottle in his hand until it scrunches into a ball, then hurls the fisted plastic into the farthest depth of the forests beyond us at inhuman speed. The baritone in his voice drops a notch below. “We’ll end him.” I'm about to ask what the plan will be in detail, when my mind drifts to the date of the next full moon. Only a few days away now, the date coincides with… the night of the School's Winter Formal. Shane balls both his hands into fists, inhaling, then stares up at the reddening sky. “Dreadborn will fall on the next full moon. I'll make damn certain of it.”

The moon sits high, a pale silver eye watching me from above, draped in a sky full of stars. Maybe Damon’s lying. He has to be. There’s no way I’m the reason people are dying. No way I’m a threat. Kieran would never let me be close to anyone if he thought that was true… right? I drop to my knees in the grass, tilt my head back, and stare at the heavens. The stars blur as tears prick my eyes. Is the Moon Goddess watching me? Laughing at the chaos she’s cursed me with? Or just... gone?

Moonlight spilled through the arched windows. And on the floor, a little girl. She couldn’t have been older than five. Dark curls. Wide eyes. A mark on her collarbone—just like mine. She was sobbing. Holding something small in her hands. A locket. I stepped toward her—but I couldn’t move. I wasn’t in the dream. I was watching it. Then came the voice. Soft. Chilling. “You must forget, Selene. You must let it go if you want to survive.”

Edeline Outside, the moon had finally risen above the treetops, casting a soft glow that filtered through the leaves, which fluttered and danced in the gentle breeze. Autumn was approaching, its presence evident in the crisp air and falling leaves. The moonlight illuminated my room with a calming, ethereal glow. I stared up at the moon, wishing for healing, hoping for strength. I needed to develop a stronger will. I pleaded silently for a solution, for a way to address all the mistakes and find a path through this painful situation.

I had no idea who he was or what he had done, but it must have been something serious. Knock, knock, knock! The door opened, and Magenta was smiling as she stood in the doorway. “Luna! I’ve been expecting you! Come in! Please!” “What do you mean, 'you were expecting me?’” She closed the door behind me after I walked in. “Well, the Blood Moon is tomorrow, so I knew you’d be here soon regarding your marriage.” She arched an eyebrow, giving me a sly smile. “Cutting it a bit close. Don’t you think?”

Luna tried to close her eyes despite the difficulty, even though she had been attempting for the past hour. Sleep evaded her, and she lay on her side, facing the large window that now revealed the night sky devoid of stars, only showing a crescent moon illuminating the city of Los Angeles.

“Are you really Knox’s mate, or are you just playing some kind of game?” Lydia blinked, stunned by the bluntness of the question. “Excuse me?” Ella tilted her head. “You heard her. It’s just a little hard to believe that Knox would have a mate. Especially someone like you.” “Well, do you expect him to be mateless? I can’t blame you, and if you think I’m some kind of ride-along, then I guess you’re wrong. We are a mate-blessed bond from the Moon Goddess. I’m sorry—there’s nothing you can do.” Lydia threw in the remark, which earned a scowl. She knew she’d hit the spot, but they were at a party, so obviously, they could do nothing.

When she was a child, Amaris would push the bed back against the wall every night so that she could lay at the foot of her bed and look out her window at the moon. There was nothing more beautiful than the sight of the full moon in all her glory.

"Yes. I was Alpha Felix Moons Beta before your father killed them, and we surrendered to his pack and loyalty." "Felix Moon was an Alpha!?" "Yes.
