Xandar opened his eyes and tried not to make a sound as he looked up at Lucianne, who was holding her book in one hand. She was already halfway through it. He peeked at the cover, and realized that it was a book on the neuroscience behind wolf-behavior.

He smashed everything that’s hindering his way, even the books. “You are destroying your sacred place!” I hid behind the bookshelf as my heart throbbed in panic. “Don’t worry about that. Worry about yourself!” The glass behind me broke as he continued destroying everything. I rolled over and found another spot to hide from his burning fists. I crouched and looked for Kylo. She was reading a book while crawling on the floor. It’s a perfect moment to read a book, isn’t it? Can she be smarter than this?

I pee a lot, and smelling and seeing things that are sensitive to my body makes me puke. "Liam, just leave the poor girl alone." Sydney stepped in and pressed those breasts of hers on Liam's arm. A lot of the books here were written in French, while there were a few written in English. Luke pulls out a leather-bound book off one of the shelves, running his hand over it. The title is in French. "This is one of my favorite books of all time." "You read books in your leisure time?" To say I wasn't outrightly surprised would be a lie. I never pegged Luke to be someone who enjoys reading novels.

I'm not some savage killer that they need to fear. "That's just the way things have to be. I'm sure many of them blame me for their mate deaths, just as much as they blame you. Not everyone here respects me because they like me, but because they know I'm their alpha and I won't tolerate their disrespect." He tells me. "I guess you're right," I say. I open the book to where the bookmark is at. This is where Lucious left the bookmark when I first started to read the book. "I made it to where you last stopped. Would you like to read with me?" I ask, looking over at him sitting next to me.

Liam turned back around and addressed her calmly, “It appears you have unlocked the doors to darkness. We ask that you be more patient and cautious in your journey down the path of knowledge. All things come in time.” Without warning, he raised his arms high above his head. This time he formed a small glowing ball of firelight. It hovered overhead in the center of the room, spinning rapidly while heat permeated the room, warming her throughout her body and immediately calming her and bringing her back to her senses.

Liam's voice is tight. Aldara doesn't answer immediately. She moves to another shelf. Pulls down a different text. Reads faster. "Aldara," Marcus says. "What did you find?" She looks up. Her ancient eyes are wide. Afraid. "The Dormant Luna isn't just a bridge between species," she says slowly. "She's a key." "A key to what?" I ask. Aldara sets the book down on the pedestal beside the lunar stone. Points to a passage written in larger script.

"I still need proof. I'm just going on a hunch." "What kind of hunch do you have?" Luke asked. "It's hard to explain," I said. "But I had this immense pull toward Lex. It was as if instinct kicked in, telling me that he carried my blood." Luke went quiet, left my side, and went to the bookshelf. A few moments later, he retrieved a book, opened it, and handed it to me. "What's that?" I asked. "Read it," he said, pointing his finger at the page.

Shelves of books loomed over him, their contents scattered across the floor. He ran his fingers along the spines of the books, humming softly. "Knowledge is power," he said, picking up a tattered textbook. "But not the kind I need right now." As he flipped through the pages, he felt a pang of hunger gnawing at his insides. His bloodshot eyes glowed and his smirk returned. "Time to find something... fresher," he said, tossing the book aside. --- Luke ran through the darkness, his breath coming in ragged gasps. The sound of growls and shuffling footsteps grew louder behind him, and no matter how fast he ran, he couldn’t escape it.
