The room seems to tilt, and she has to force herself to speak slowly enough that no one can pretend they misunderstood her. “I’m Rhea Moonmere,” she says. “I’m his wife. I’m your Luna.” The silence that follows is worse than the scream. Holt looks at Darian, and Darian’s hand tightens around his blade. Elin whispers from behind them, “There is no Luna.” Rhea hears the words, but they do not fit anywhere inside her. They strike the surface of her mind and break there, useless and impossible. “That’s ridiculous,” she says. “Call Maddox.”

Right after Sasha said these words, a plea for help rang throughout the forest. "You just had to jinx it, didn't you!?" Byeol shouted, shooting a quick glare at Sasha. Before all three girls ran in that direction, they heard the voice again. "There she is!" shouted Lux as the group saw a giant vicious venus flytrap monster. A green vine held what looked to be a girl upside down, dangling in midair above the monster's greedy open mouth. "Lux!" Luna urgently called the fae’s name, who had shifted into a glowing ball of light. A cocoon of luminous purple butterflies shielded Luna's body before shortly dispersing.

Chris' PoV “Well then, Luna of the Night Moon Pack, why don’t you step forward and show everyone how strong you are?” I taunted causing her to hesitate and flinch when hearing my remark. As she shown no movement, I glanced over at the trainees who were sitting in a dumbstruck state and gave a pitied look, “awww, your little Luna is scared to lose against a weak and small wolf” I insulted whilst glancing over at the trainees.

“I’m sure.” After listening and sniffing my surroundings to make sure no one was close, I summoned Weather. In no time, we were on all fours and I was looking down at Weathers sapphire blue paws that glowed under the moonlight. Our fur always showed bits of silver when under the moon to show we were blessed by the Goddess herself. The silver bits looked like raindrops were cascading down our fur but the real beauty was when we were running and the silver transformed into a torrential downpour. “What should we train? I’ve been wanting to try summoning a mini tornado.”

But as soon as her eyelashes raised, her gaze directly met with the silver moon shining in the dark sky. Suddenly, black shadows rippled across the radiant moon like spreading ink. Her heart lurched. The Luna Nera! It was coming. And so was Kesha.

“Don’t twist this.” I wanted to scream. I wanted to stand and throw the cutlery, the plates, the porcelain—everything—across the room and watch it all shatter like the pieces of my dignity. But I didn’t. Because Lunas don’t scream. Lunas endure. “I see,” I said instead, voice icy. Nova sniffled beside him. “I only want peace between us, Luna. I truly do.” I turned to her with a smile that could curdle wine.
