Luna Nightshade Novels & Stories

|| Lilac's POV || The Nightshade archives smelled of old parchment and damp stone, the air thick with the weight of centuries. My fingers trailed along the spines of ancient tomes, each one whispering secrets I wasn’t sure I wanted to uncover. But the unease in my bones wouldn’t let me rest. Not after the black rose. Not after the dreams. Aurora was safe—for now—asleep in the nursery under the watchful eyes of her guards. But the words of Endora still rang in my ears, "The shadows are stirring, Luna. And they whisper your daughter’s name."

“The Luna had something to do with it, I’m sure. From the information I got from my spy—before she killed him—the Luna had slowly been poisoning him. But my spy was caught and killed. She’s tightened security and strictly forbids your presence at the pack. She’s issued a kill-on-sight order—for both of us." That witch... I gritted my teeth. My eyes reddened, my veins popped out. “I swear she won’t get away with this.” “You need to act strategically, Dark. I’m in support of you—whenever you’re ready to attack,” Lady Havana assured. A knock came on the door, interrupting our discussion.

If I had my way, I would hide my Luna inside the room till they left. His wife too…this slut! Why was she staring at my wife's boobs like that? I could swear I saw her licking her lips. I would make sure that Landon and his wife would take the room at the far end of the pack. These days my Luna had been acting so strange, I did not need people tempting her and giving her mother watering offers. “So tell me, Nicholas. What have you been giving to our Luna, she looks so shiny and plump! I like what I'm seeing,” Riley asked me.

Three months later… It was a small gathering where I would be announced as a Luna of none, but Theo Tanner, the only man who truly understood me. “You look gorgeous, darling,” Theo whispered. He lightly kissed my cheeks, and a blush crept up my cheeks. The hall was filled with the entire Nightshade pack, and Leo addressed the crowd, holding my hand. Good evening everyone. As you all are aware, why have we gathered here, yet I wish to make it official that–I accept, the love of my life, Selene, as the Luna of the Nightshade Pack.

She knocked once before entering, and found Osmond seated behind his desk, who immediately turned towards her. “Papa,” she called cheerfully. “I’ve brought good news for all of us.” Osmond immediately rose from his chair. “What is it?” he asked, quickly walking over to Paige, who had already sat down on the sofa. “What good news?” Paige looked at Osmond with sparkling eyes. “I’m going to become Luna very soon.” Osmond froze for a moment, then asked with unmistakable enthusiasm, “What did you say?” A bright laugh spilled from Paige’s lips. Understanding Osmond’s shock, she explained, “Alpha asked if I would be willing to undergo the blood bond ritual and become his Luna.”

Some were relieved, while others were in tears as if a heavy stone had been lifted from their hearts. I happened to see Kathleen sitting among the wolves, grinning from ear to ear as she winked at me. I was just about to ask what she was grinning about when Lucien's voice rose again. "Nightshade," he said, "tonight is not only a night to solemnly pledge loyalty to Nightshade. Tonight, you will witness the binding of your Luna. The Luna of Nightshade." My breath caught. Kathleen's shriek of excitement barely registered in my ears.

I call to my Luna, who immediately hurries to us as Ilisa runs through the door and locks into combat with Kammie. “Nightshade and wolfsbane.” Her eyes cloud over. “The doctors will have an antidote, don’t worry, Josin.” She says, placing her hand on his. I know she is doing the magic search she also did with Dorian, and then she nods with a small smile.

Once inside, I leaned against the wall and allowed myself a moment of weakness. My hands were shaking. Me. An ancient vampire who'd faced down werewolf packs and hunter guilds without flinching. Shaking because a twenty-year-old college student had smiled at me. "Get yourself together, Nightshade," I muttered. "She's a target. A mission. Nothing more." But when I closed my eyes, I saw her face. The way her blue eyes had searched mine, looking for deception and finding... what? What had she seen in me? I pulled out my phone and sent a brief text to my sister Selene: Contact made. Target confirmed as White Luna descendant. Appears unaware of full abilities. Will continue assessment.

Here's a little cheat sheet for the packs. Alpha Merrick and Luna Gracelyn - Harvest Moon Alpha Zion (currently unmated but that may change soon;)) - Blue Moon Alpha Aydin and Luna Tessa - Waning Moon Alpha Kolter and Luna Kinsley - Waxing Moon Alpha David and Luna Christina - Silver Moon ......................................................... “So,” she continued, her tone lighter, “with that being said, Blood Moon pack will not be a part of this war and I will be keeping a close eye on them.”

Redwood has never produced a Luna for the north, and I know without a doubt that Alpha Storm would love to be the first Alpha under whose rule a Luna is selected from the Redwood Pack. "The ball is in two weeks," Alpha Storm continues, his eyes rising up to find mine now as I refill Elder Gabriel's cup. "So, we have a lot to prepare for. I'll be summoning every eligible female in our esteemed Pack in a few minutes to let them know this. I just wanted my Elders to be aware, first. As you all know, this is a grand opportunity for us all. If Redwood produces a Luna, it guarantees a solid partnership with the North. The largest Pack in the country. We can't — " The glass cup I'm refilling slippe
