Even Dylan went silent. "Lunara," Raymond breathed, reverent. I knew her. Lunara—the High Seer of the Crescent Circle. The Moon Goddess's chosen. She had served alphas for generations, guarding magic and the balance between wolf and spirit. Most wizards answered to kings or councils. She answered only to the Moon. Her presence steadied me for the first time since Natalie collapsed. Maybe she could save her. She moved to the bed, her eyes steady. "I felt the bond tremble," she said. "The Moon guided me here."

My voice trembled. "There were nights I cried myself to sleep wondering what I had done to deserve being hated by the people who were supposed to love me most, I believed every cruel word, I really believed I was nothing." " I took a slow breath. "But you were wrong." I turned slightly, looking at Oliver before smiling through my tears. "The Moon Goddess had already written a different future for me." I looked back at them. He takes a half step forward, then stops, as if he’s hit an invisible wall. The witch in the center of the circle clears his throat. Malric stands to his right, robes neat, hair perfect, face composed. Only the faint gleam in his eyes betrays anything like emotion. “Lilah Hart,” the witch intones, voice carrying unnaturally clear. “Reborn Luna. Called by the Moon and bound by curse and bond to this Alpha and this pack. Step forward.” Cassian’s hand brushes my arm, brief. Leo’s shoulder bumps mine once.

Eldric pushed me forward through the crowd. People moved aside, muttering. “Witch,” someone said lowly. I kept my head high, but inside my stomach twisted. This is bad. This feels too much like that night. Lysandra raised her hands, and the bells stopped. The square went quiet. She smiled, her voice carried authority “My pack. My family. The Moon Goddess has spoken to me in dreams. She says it is time to heal our wounds and have Luna again.” Gasps rippled through the crowd.

He sets it on the desk in front of me. "The Eclipse line is not extinct, as many believe. But it is rare. So rare that most wolves thought it had died out generations ago." He opens the journal to a page marked with a black ribbon. "Eclipse wolves are born during a lunar eclipse. A moon that should never mark a wolf. But when it does, the power it grants is extraordinary." I look down at the page. There's a drawing of a crescent moon partially swallowed by shadow. Just like my mark.

“What do you mean?” “Do you know who the Luna witch was?” She asked as she stared into my eyes. “The Luna witch is not called the Luna witch, she was known as the crescent full moon witch, she was just like you, a half-witch and half-werewolf but curiosity drove her to find the powers of the artifacts in your possession making her the most powerful witch of that time but she couldn't say her lover with that power, she couldn't control life or death, so she looked for ways to do it, she sold her soul for this artifacts to bring her lover back but you know the rest of the story” she laughed as she picked up the artifact.

It was like I was no longer Rebekka the slave girl but suddenly I was something far more iconic. “Due to the priestesses' divine power, eventually even the beasts and the witches began to regard them as deities and that was how they came to be seen as goddesses.” “The Wolf goddess— Lunar was originally a priestess. Legend has it that she made the first beast – the alpha - walk as a man and they mated and had children. Some of the children took after the alpha and were more beast than divine while others took after the Luna and were more divine than beast…”

“But most likely it’s the Mystic Moon Pack or---” “The Dark Moon Pack?” I cut him off, and he nodded. “It’s the Dark Moon Pack!” “How are you so sure?” Alpha Jason asked, sounding confused as he too scrolled through his tablet, trying to find what he and the enforcer had missed. “Because Alpha Kendrick's Luna is a witch,” I replied, and tapped the big screen again, enlarging the lone figure. “And that’s a witch! We’re going to need Stella to put a protection spell on the warriors---”

The lantern light danced along the blade. “It’s ancient,” he said. “Hundreds of years old. One of my family’s ceremonial tools. We use it to bind new members into the Blue Moon Pack.” Lydia’s heart began to pound. “You want me to… join the pack?” He nodded and placed the knife flat on the desk. “Yes. Temporarily—until we figure out what’s wrong with your scent and your wolf. You’re considered Luna… and my mate. If we can’t even mind link each other or connect with the pack, they’ll get suspicious. And that could cost us. Don’t forget—some of us are Lycans. The rest are wolves. But Lycans can sniff things out quickly.”
