And not just any human—a hunter?” He barked a laugh. “Call it off.” My voice was steady, though every muscle in my body was coiled tight. “Whatever you’re planning to do to him, end it. I heard you, Liam. You killed Marcus, not Riley.”

The envoy from the Sunlit pack arrived a week later, the envoy consisted of seven men and five women with the Alpha included. The Alpha George was a tall huge chunk of a man with bluish black hair that brought attentions to his fiery eyes. He had an intimidating aura surrounding him that screamed for submission. The Alpha Lucien, his son Damien and a few emissaries were present to welcome them. Though of smaller built than George, Lucien was no less intimidating with his pale white skin, cold blue eyes and well-proportioned muscles.

I looked at the codename on the ID, then looked up at the world outside the window. The sunlight was dazzling, and the world was bright. But I knew that beneath all this brightness lay a deeper darkness I had never seen before. My hunt had not ended. It had only just begun.

“You said you would see her one last time.” “She is my outcast, Lawrence! I marked her first with my rejection!” Hunter shouted from the ground, spitting blood as he tried to rise against the pressure of the King Lycan’s aura. “She does not belong to a coward who hides an elder in his dungeons,” Lawrence pronounced, kicking him in the chest and sending him flying three meters across the snow. Lawrence turned toward me in a fraction of a second. His eyes were no longer gray; they were two pools of glowing silver, completely consumed by the beast that craved blood and possession.

He was Aaron. He stared at us strangely and said, ``I thought i heard something, Miss Wilson." I looked at Cathy who turned to the other side. "Nothing. Get out of here. This isn't the male's bathroom." I yelled and he walked out. I turned and saw Cathy seething in anger. Her eyes had turned light blue and I went into her thoughts. 'Hunters.'

He knows nothing. Luca crouched down near him. Hunter reeked of alcohol and cigarettes. His hair and beard have outgrown. He had lost weight and looked wasted. "Do you think you'll find her like this?" Luca said curtly. Hunter raised his red-shot eyes meeting his silver gaze causing Luca to flinch. He had never seen so much pain in his eyes before. He looked completely broken. Destiny was the biggest twisted curveball and a web of absolute deceit. Luca hated fate so much that he couldn't explain it in words and now Hunter was going through the same thing. The person he hurt so much turned out to be his mate.

The hunters knew that they were getting close. They crept forward, their weapons at the ready, until they caught sight of Tate standing in a clearing, his massive form silhouetted against the moonlit sky. Without hesitation, the hunters opened fire, their silver bullets ripping through the air and striking Tate with deadly force. Tate came to realize at that moment that he had been on a bad path for so long and barely escaped from the hunters. He went back home to his brother, and Marcus gladly allowed him take back his place knowing that he really had changed.
