His claws leaving a deep scratch across his shoulder blade. I looked at him sadly. My eyes welling with tears as I replied. “You are not my Alpha, Drake. I am a Luna Queen.” My message was simple. I walked over to my bed after closing and locking my bedroom door. I plopped down onto the plush mattress and stared blankly at the ceiling; my muscles felt like shit. I looked at the clock on the wall; it was just six o'clock now, so I had plenty of time to shower and choose an outfit.

I looked toward her immediately. “So how does it work now?” The Queen smiled softly. “Each day spent within the sanctuary,” she said carefully, “will equal one hour outside.” The room stilled. Pamela blinked first. “…That is still absolutely insane.” Marcus looked deeply offended on behalf of reality itself. “One day equals an hour?” Queen Genovive nodded. “It will allow you time,” she explained calmly. “Time to prepare. Time to heal. Time to welcome the children safely.” My breath caught slightly.
