The light was too blinding that I was sure that I wasn’t the only one who was affected. After almost a minute, the blinding light started to vanish into thin air and my sight was back to normal. I saw almost all the mages looking at me. I was in the back most of the crowd so they were all looking back to me.

"I had no idea you had an affinity for magic. But since you're new to the class, we'll start with something simple. A basic flame conjuration." She set the book down in front of me and flipped to a page near the beginning. The spell was written in elegant script, with detailed instructions about hand movements and the proper pronunciation of each word.

The spell Kael learned from the chief was only intended for lighting up the dark areas.
