As his cool lips spoke beside my ears, the merman caressed my back with his webbed paw. There was an innate magical power and charm in his voice too, and as he enticed me, I actually repeated that name which was at once familiar yet unfamiliar. “Dicken?”

The merpeople’s leader—Dicken—smiled as he softly answered. His paw suddenly drifted to my posterior, holding me up as a father would a child. I was suddenly unsure where to put my legs, and had to throw them over his shoulder, which was so embarrassing that I froze up.
