For one brief second, I thought I had escaped but then the doors burst open. The sound echoed through the library like thunder. Magnus strode inside, his long royal cape sweeping across the marble floor behind him. His chest still rose with shaky breaths, and before another word could be spoken, he slammed the doors shut with enough force to rattle the ancient shelves. The room seemed to shrink around us. “Why are you running from me?” His voice bounced between the towering bookcases. He crossed the distance separating us in only a few strides until his presence filled every corner of my vision.

‎ ‎The void shattered. ‎ ‎I slammed back into my body. ‎ ‎The pain wasn't pain anymore. It was power. ‎ ‎I opened my eyes. ‎ ‎They were blindingly bright, twin suns of violet fire. ‎ ‎I looked at Magnus. ‎ ‎"Run," I whispered. Not a plea. A warning. ‎ ‎Magnus froze. "What?" ‎ ‎I let it go. ‎ ‎CRACK. ‎ ‎My spine snapped. ‎ ‎It was the loudest sound I had ever heard.

The beginning of “Fated Rejection – Fated Claim” had been a brief brush stroke that continued until something much bigger evolved. Each new character, each new journey, and each new struggle painted even more depth.

The object of our quest. I reach down and grab it, feeling its power surging through me. I gasp in surprise over the new sensation. The coin! Is it being activated? With renewed vigor, I push forward, cutting a path through the wisps. And then, I see her. Winter, held captive by the wisps. My heart aches at the sight, but I refuse to give up. Sometimes you have to push yourself to achieve great things, and I was on my way to achieve a better life. I awake to the sound of my parents talking to what sounded like Charles. My parents may treat me horribly and be bitter towards me. But they did not hate me as much as they hated the city, so Charles got quite a mouth full. They were not happy having him at their door stop. I can imagine it brought back memories they did not care to relive. It brought quite a smile to my face hearing him get told to piss off. Upon reaching the second level, he strode towards the NPI office and opened the door with so much force it caused the bell to chime loudly. Clyde stopped from returning a book on the shelf and gave Nobel a questioning look. "What happened, Nobel?" "Those idiots didn't tell me anything about this." He muttered furiously under his breath. Clyde froze. He knew that voice. Nobel only used it whenever a situation got to its worst, and by the looks of his charge, he figured that it had something to do with Miss Jones. "They're on their way," he said referring to the team.

"Yes" He swoops me off my feet grinning, twirling me around while I giggled. He places me back on my feet. "Good. Now let's go make babies" "What?" I laugh. THE END!!!
