Malicious Empress Novels & Stories

"Now, let's talk business." Lucas turned his gaze to me. The soldier slowly lowered the gun from my temple, but stayed close enough to end my life in a heartbeat. "The Amelia problem," Lucas began, his voice calm yet terrifying. "I heavily invested in Qunnix because it was supposed to be a clean, highly profitable front for my operations. Now, your resurrected ex-wife is parading around with Jared Donovan, threatening to bring down the board, the investors, and the entire corporate structure." "I can handle it, Mr. Giovanni," I pleaded, my voice shaking. "I had a restraining order signed today—"

Chelsea said in a serious manner, "With my appearance, of course I’m playing the trouble-making demon concubine." Geovanni was stunned, then realized that she was joking, and smiled, "That suits you well." Chelsea laughed, "Just kidding, I play an unloved empress, the big boss behind the scenes who trips up the heroine every day, making it impossible for the concubines in the palace to bear children." "Unloved empress," Geovanni pondered over this sentence, then said seriously, "If you play an empress who is unloved, then the emperor must've some kind of eye issue."

Her body swayed unsteadily where she stood. "Bring that shameless woman to me immediately." Before Celeste could even bow in greeting, she was slapped hard twice across the face. Bright red handprints immediately appeared on her cheeks, showing just how much Empress Victoria hated her. "So, you used that pretty face of yours to seduce the Crown Prince, didn't you?" Empress Victoria was the legitimate daughter of a prestigious noble family. As a child, she had watched her father being seduced by mistresses while her mother wept herself to death in resentment. Hence, she had always despised illegitimate children with a passion.

It was killing me on the inside, but I didn’t dare do or say anything out of turn. “Emperor, you heard him. Nothing inappropriate happened. It’s all just a big misunderstanding…” the empress quickly cut in. “Empress, are you implying that General Shin and I both misunderstood the situation that we witnessed?” It was Ren’s cold voice that shut the empress up this time. I guess this is what happens when you speak out of turn. Ren was clearly not going to let the Empress step in and disturb the process of justice. “Please refrain from speaking out of turn,” the emperor said coldly, and the empress apologized immediately.

She nodded without looking at him which made him doubt she was giving him a cold shoulder. He could not understand this woman. She seemed to show different colours of herself. One moment she acted like a grumpy old man and other times she acts like a docile lamb or a demoness disguised as a seductress or an abandoned kitten desperate for help. Who is the real her? This made him want to know everything about her. What made the omnipotent Empress among the socialites fall from grace and what made her return after disappearing without a trace four years ago. She felt worse for she had been crippled even if it's for a few months. It made her revenge plan more pending. And the Royal Steel, thinki

He didn’t forget to gloat over his antics punishing the empress for forgetting them. “Oh no… you are big trouble…” Emm shook her head after gloating for a minute. “I can bet you a million dollars that the Empress has already dobbed on you, and you are in big trouble with the demon emperor…” Emm continued with an all knowing expression. “Hymph!” Chris Jnr crossed his arms over his chest with a resentful expression ‘Little treasure was right… the empress would have already complained like a baby and the wife berserk demon is sure to take revenge…. His poor little bum!’

But, life in the palace was different from popular perception - it wasn't all fancy dress, tea parties, and balls, nor was it full of sycophantic nobles. After the empress died, leaving no children, the emperor chose my mother as his consort. She was the daughter of a wealthy marquis and was known throughout the empire for her beauty. But, after giving birth to Princess Camellia, her only child from a loveless marriage, she died mysteriously. I have been rejected by everyone since I was born, leading the empire to mourn once again. The emperor's wife was poisoned, but no one investigated who committed such a terrible act against a young mother who had recently given birth to her daughter.

"You think I'm still in love with that murderer? Oh believe me, I hate him more than I dislike her!" "Aww, thanks." I smiled. "No problem Empress. I swear I didn't betray our people or our land." "Let her go." I announced. "Empress, are you always so quick to believe the best in people when you shouldn't?" Penn asked. "Beta Penn, are you always so quick to believe the worst in a situation even when you shouldn't?" I shot back. He didn't respond. "Serena you are free to go." "Really?" She squeaked. I nodded and she practically ran out.

But I had a feeling that Dante wasn't the type of person who would knock. When I opened the door, I realized that my prediction was right. Annie beamed at me. And she brought food. She was officially my favourite person in this book. We ate and chatted. Annie knew gossip related to the royal families. She would lower her voice whenever she talked about them. It was strange to hear the royal scandals from a young girl, but I needed information. "Basically, the empress wants her son to be the next emperor?" I probed. "Yes, but the fifth prince is young and his achievements barely match Prince Dante." She said to me, "However, Prince Dante is too cruel."

“This man have been planning all along to make her his Empress. He would have never married me even when I forced his hand. He must be faking it this whole time on agreeing to my terms, he is up to something.” Then she looked at the Empress. “This useless woman of my father. She couldn’t even do her job correctly. She said she had everything under control the whole entire time when she didn’t. She couldn’t even keep her own son under control. She knew this whole entire time that the Crown Prince planned on keeping that woman as his only intended woman and she lied to me this whole entire time. Keeping up my false hopes. How dare she. When I get back to my kingdom, I will make sure to have fa
