Mom said as she let out a small smile and I nodded my head in disappointment because I know that dad will never come back to her. I helped mom up and led her to the bed. She lied down while I watched her by her side as she drifted off to sleep. After she's asleep, I left the room and then headed back to my car to go home and on getting to the car, I called Kingsley to ask him if he got anything. "Did you find anything?" "Not yet, but I found out Emelia met with someone from BASTOON, so I'm off to check the CCTV of that side to see if perhaps they exchanged anything."

Blinded by rage and sadness, she entered the nearest bar, and found herself in this mess. From the look of things, it seems like she had sex with someone, but she couldn’t even remember what he looked like. She was mentally scolding herself and trying hard to figure her thoughts out, when her ringtone cut through her thoughts. She looked down at the phone, and saw it was her mother calling. “Hi ma-“ “Marie, you need to come now! We’re in danger, and you need to be here right now” Her mother cut her short before they could even exchange pleasantries, and hung up right after.

her mum said in an excited tone. Arlene turned the volume up to the loudest and they kept up with their mini karaoke which was pretty much loud, because people on the road started to look at them. But then none of them cared, to Arlene her mum was a vibe and not like the regular southingham mothers who were boring and lame. These were the moments she lived for, there was never a dull moment with her mum even though they had little cat fights, but it was normal with females. “Do you think dad would be back from work by now?” Arlene asked her mum who was still caught up in the blues of the music playing.

“Mama is very busy right now.” “What is she doing?” Reno asked quickly. “Looking for new partners,” Shelyn answered. “Mama said she wants to prepare a new project.” Reno fell silent for a few seconds. “Good. That means our plan to keep Mama from leaving for now has worked.” Elang added, “Mama doesn’t suspect anything at all.” Reno smiled on the other end. “You’re amazing.” Shelyn raised an eyebrow. “Papa, don’t be too confident.”

Once Mama leaves, Maureen checks the drawers and says, "No Bible?" Suddenly, she drops to the floor and looks underneath the bed. I laugh, "What are you doing?"

Chris must have noticed my panic state because he come over and removes me from my seat to sit me on his lap. “Rae. I met Katrina when both you and Chris were little. The two of you are different from most people.” Mama starts to explain. “What do you mean by different, Mama.” I ask, nervously. “We are not what we seem.” She says. I wait patiently while she organizes her thoughts. “We are not wholly human.”
