Chapter 26: A Contest and Unspoken Mr Kim found himself settling into his new role in the manufacturing team at L Logo Company. He had been working diligently, gaining the respect of his colleagues with his dedication and attention to detail. However, his curiosity about the mysterious doors he had seen during his initial tour of the company still lingered in his mind. One day, during his lunch break, Mr Kim decided to take a stroll around the company premises. As he wandered through the corridors, he couldn't resist the temptation to investigate the enigmatic doors that had piqued his curiosity.

While Zed could do many wonderful things with his bare hands, Kim mobilized many paid staff to do simple things for him. The door buzzed right away. Kim opened the door, and the same attendant stood in between the door frame. Kim ushered him in to clean up and bring the dishes out. Once the attendant left, Kim picked up his sling bag and put it on his lap. I watched him as he opened it and saw him pulling out a book. It had a glossy cream cover with embossed letters on its surface. I could not read the name of the book until he handed it to me, surprisingly.

I nodded, “I’m sure she knows that.” “Are you all cool? You barely talk or hang out.” I shook my head, for the first time I felt like I could confide in Kim, but as I parted my lips something clicked in me, for all I know she could be working with these people. It doesn’t make sense but it wasn’t entirely impossible. “She’s just busy with being CEO, it’s a lot of work, you know.” Kim nodded, smiling, “Yeah, that’s true. I should return to my post. Can you beep me when you’re heading out?”

Campbell was vice president–finance and Brewster was vice president–administration. “Shall we see what other damage has been done?” Kim asked with a quirky smile. Before moving, Brad took her in his arms and kissed her. Rather than being embarrassed — they were standing in the main corridor — Kim just melted her lips to his and molded her body tightly to his, too.

“Because it’s a hassle. We’ll have our family doctor to look at me when we get home.” He said as if it’s nothing but… Our family… Home… I mentally smiled. The room went silent but not awkward until someone knocked at the door. I looked at it then Gavin where I met his gaze before nodding. I stood up and got to the door. I looked at the peeping hole, or whatever. I saw the manager and the slutty woman from earlier. I open the door slightly indicating our privacy and unwelcomeness. “Hello, Mrs. Morgan. I’m the manager of this hotel, my name is Kim Chi.”

Kim tried to make him see reasons. "Kimberly, you're my secretary, at least that what I pay you for. You ain't my godamn parents or my adviser so shut the hell up, get out of my office and go get me Stan now". She kept quiet and left the office with out uttering anymore words. "Get me a cup of coffee on your way". He said as Kim made her way out. "okay Mr Denzel". She said, hey face not as happy and enthusiastic as it was when she had entered the office earlier.

“Go to such lengths, what? What old man?” “Oh, still pretending, Miss Bella? You and that investor... didn’t you two last night…? There’s no shame in it. Though my position doesn’t allow me to interfere in my superior’s personal matters, I’m only concerned for your safety,” Assistant Kim said, acting as if she were being considerate and reasonable.

Kim cries out loud unable to move any part of his body, he turns his body in great difficulty and tries to push the chair with his other hand, his fingers are no help. “Please,” he cries “Let me go,” he begs, the wooden edge cuts his skin “I can help you, I’ll help you ,” he begs, saliva drooling out his mouth “Please,” he wails. “Who gave you the order?,” Aiden asks her eyes never leaving him. “The chairman, The chairman,” “Who is the chairman?,” she bends giving more weight to the chair, Kim screams get louder, his breath begins to hitch.

Love doesn’t matter. Not his. Not even Robert’s. What matters now is the mission. The truth. Justice. Revenge. I picked up my phone and dialed Kim, my secretary back in Canada. She answered on the second ring. “Hello?” “I need a favor,” I said, moving to the window that overlooked the main gate. “Of course,” she replied without hesitation. “Whatever you need.” That’s the thing about Kim. She’s more than my secretary. She’s lived through worse than I have. Escaped worse. Once the right hand of a feared mafia boss in her country. She knows how to disappear people.
