He turned sharply toward the crowd. "All of you–shut your mouths!" He glanced at my injuries, his voice urgent.

Arthur easily snapped it out of the air, but his expression was one of angst. "Don't test me," Arthur growled. "Oh, I wouldn't want to. I've heard about your tests. They often come up positive for some kind of STI." The man burst out laughing, completely entertained with his crude joke. Several of the people he was with joined him, chuckling. "I'd be careful, sweetheart. This one gets around." He tilted his head to me feigning sympathy. I stared up at him in curiosity. Maybe it was people like this who perpetuated those sleazy rumors. I didn't believe him about Arthur.

They opened their mouths to argue, but I didn’t give them the chance. I simply gestured toward the door, every ounce of patience gone.

"I'm joking, but if you want to be serious it's okay." He did say he was joking, but it was obvious from his tone that the man meant what he had just said. "Sorry, no interest in the uncles," Green said while washed the dishes.
