Images of her face gracing the covers of famous magazines danced in her head. Excitement bubbling within her, Martha selected the ravishing red designer dress she'd recently acquired: a midi-length piece featuring batwing sleeves and a wrap waist. It had cost her a small fortune as it was one of only three in existence, but the way it flattered her figure made the expense worthwhile.

Ten hours before they left for Benjamin's family gathering, Calista was met by several people who came to do her hair and makeup for her. Two hours before the ball, Marie knocked on my door with a dress bag. "Alpha Thomas asked me to help you get ready," she said kindly.
