I moved through the dissipating crowd and approached Professor Gray's desk. When I extended my hand for a formal shake, he hugged me instead. It was warm and genuine and spoke volumes of our relationship beyond the classroom. He was among the few werewolves I knew who chose to remain in the human world indefinitely. As Gray pulled back, his eyes squinted momentarily as though he was piecing something together. "You know, it's uncanny. Alex and Jessica both were warriors and were dedicated to the Pack. Lacie went with black leather pants, a lace black top with a cami underneath and black heels. Lily was sporting a green leather mid-thigh dress with short sleeves and black ankle boots. Monica was all black – black mini skirt with black corset style top and black heels. I chose my signature black skinny jeans, black tank with my black leather jacket and black leather heeled boots.

I said huskily. Sloane steps inside cautiously, she’s barefoot now. Her hair is looser, makeup gone, she looks like she stepped out of the shower then just dressed ready to see me- her silk dress traded for something softer- a cashmere sweater, black leggings better than any designer dress could look on her body. She looks less armored like this. More dangerous. More calculating. “I couldn’t sleep,” she says timidly, looking at me through her lashes. I nod once. Understanding. “Whiskey?” She hesitates, a look on her face of turmoil “Neat.” She replies.

Long black hair that shimmered in the afternoon sun like strands of silk, and when she turned to smile at something Alexander said, her hazel eyes sparkled. “Who... is that?” Sloane murmured next to me, squinting slightly as if seeing a celebrity in real life. My stomach twisted. “No idea,” I said too quickly. “God, she’s stunning,” Sloane added. “Like... movie villain but in a really hot way, kind of stunning.” I didn’t respond. They reached us, and Alexander’s gaze found mine first. He smiled softly, but I could already feel my heartbeat pushing against my ribs in some kind of invisible panic.

He pointed towards each sister as he said their name. Each of them possessed physical traits that complemented their elemental gift. Niamph had fair skin that was covered with freckles, vibrant orange hair that was in a high ponytail, and red and brown eyes. Sloane had a light brown complexion, short dark brown hair, and green and gold eyes. "I told you that as women, we can always change our minds," Shaylee said with a slight grin as she winked at Roxie. Roxie smiled and nodded her head in return.
