Liam, still chatting with Poppy in the distance, waved in greeting.
“Well, Raphael, you've been keeping secrets,” Jack teased.
Jack's wife smiled at Grace. “Seeing you in person, you're even more stunning than your photos.”
Grace beamed, and Raphael, unusually unreserved, smiled and held her hand tightly.
They exchanged pleasantries on the grassy field.
Heidi, the only one without a horse nearby, approached Grace.
“Do you like this stable?”
“It's nice, spacious,” Grace replied, stroking Aube's coat, sensing the mare's mood.
