Marshall Paw Patrol Novels & Stories

Without my wolf, I was crippled with fear. I lived with my grandparents until one day, Harley showed up with her mate and one of my guardian wolves, Alpha Anders of the Red Moon Pack, Alpha Duncan, one of my guardian wolves, of the Crescent River Pack, and Raina, and Callan, Anders’ parents. The joy that I felt from having my sister back was indescribable, but I was even more excited because Harley had the elixir so I could get my wolf back.

If you lived here, you wanted the world to know you were afraid of something. I lifted the binoculars and swept the boundary. Four-man patrol on the quarter hour, all in matching tan Carhartts, black softshell vests, no logos. Two on foot, two with dogs. One of the dogs was a purebred Malinois, the kind the DOD started breeding after the last batch of German Shepherds aged out. The other was…something else. Not a wolf, not exactly, but the kind of animal you’d get if a werewolf spent ten years as a Navy SEAL and then decided to become a dog for tax reasons.

“My dad could tell you, but you’d have to dig him up first.” Before I could bolt, a bat cracked against my skull, dropping me to the ground. My vision swam, pain exploding. The guy crouched, yanking my hair to force my eyes up. “You owed my dad, then he ends up dead, and you skip town? Shady as fuck.” I remembered now—Carson’s son, Nate Hawkins. “I didn’t—” I started, but he slammed my head into the pavement, blood pooling from my split lip.

~Arielle~ “Run and never return!” the sound of my father's voice pierced through my ears as my feet stabbed the wet, puddled ground of the woods. My chest burned with something–something hard, and my stomach churned with something unfathomable. Fear, you would say? It was deeper than that. My footsteps came hard. Fast. Wet leaves brushing my skin as my feet stabbed deeper into the woods. My breaths had come in ragged gasps, trying to escape the traffickers that had invaded the village.

Zoe beamed as she scratched behind the pitbull puppy’s ears. “Uh, perhaps you should let me take over, Miss Justice,” I said, clearing my throat, trying to move her away from the table. “But why?” she questioned with confusion written all over her face. “Just a safety precaution with Titus being a pit and all.” “Dr. Parker, he’s a puppy, and I’m fine. Please be seated,” she gritted through clenched teeth. I sighed but returned to my stool in the corner of the room and watched him flirt with Zoe while she examined the puppy.

Hold Mara, hold the pack. Lila darted among the pups, her sling tucked in her belt, chestnut ponytail bouncing as she corrected their stances. Her hazel eyes sparkled, wiry frame buzzing with energy as she clapped for a pup’s clean dodge. “That’s it, Kael! Keep those feet moving!” Her optimism lit the yard, a beacon against the looming eclipse, but her hands trembled slightly, fear buried under cheer. Spark, her wolf, yipped, small and vibrant, tail a blur. They’re growing, Lila! Keep shining, keep pushing!

It was the beginning of everything. After I’d completed my official patrol of the perimeter, which included barking at two suspicious leaves, marking three separate trees, and breaking up a shady-looking pigeon gathering, I permitted myself to play. There were other dogs in the park. I knew them. Well, most of them. Milo, the golden retriever, has no impulse control. Olive, the rescue mutt, always brought a squeaky toy and never shared it with anyone. And a rotating pack of doodle variations who never stopped moving and probably ran an underground treat exchange.

When we pulled away, he wiped my tears away with his tiny hands. Leila cooed. “He’s so adorable! Can’t I clone him?” “No can do! He has a great destiny to fulfil,” I smiled. “What did your mom say?” Silas asked curiously. “She told me that Paxton was never meant to be a part of my destiny, but now that I’ve included him, his fate has changed entirely. He’s going to play a big role in Thaddeus’ life. Thaddeus will shift when he turns six, and Paxton when he turns twelve. They’ll both have wolves like Nikolas and will reach their full sizes at age eighteen. Paxton will also be given powers of his own, and he and Thaddeus will not have the same power, which means they will need each other,” I t

I don’t really understand what it is because almost half of his explanation was in the form of sound effects but it doesn’t really matter because he seems satisfied with me just flying around making the occasional airplane noise. A few minutes later Maddy and Charlie come in to the room and says, “Ah, I see you’ve been introduced to Paw Patrol. Careful, he’ll suck you into that for hours.” “Oh good, can’t wait.” “She’s being Skye!” Seth says excitedly. “He must like you. Skye is his favourite,” she says with a wink. “Oh wow, I’m honoured,” I say with a grin. At that moment, the front door opens and a woman, who I assume is Maddy’s mom walks in saying, “Who’s car is in front of our house?”

I was about to be mauled to death. "It's okay..." I say tensely. My body trembling with fright. "Here, you can have him back. You see I was protecting him. There was an eagle and it was going to get him but he's okay. See, you're welcome..." Slowly but surely I put Poppy back onto the floor and it padded towards his mother. Yet, the mother still growled. I backed up... "Where is Paw Patrol when you need em'." The dog barked, hard and loud, and I didn't grasp the level of stupid I am until that very moment when I pointed at the dog and yelled, "Bad dog!"
