Nick stood by the centre table, his expression a mixture of relief and uncertainty.
"Luna," Elder Maron spoke first, his tone grave. "We’ve been discussing your recent actions, or rather, your lack of them."
I took a steadying breath, forcing myself to meet his gaze. "I understand. I apologise for my absence and my lack of leadership. But I assure you, I’m here now, ready to lead."
A murmur of discontent rippled through the room. Elder Orin, a particularly stern figure, stood up, his eyes hard. "This isn’t the first time you’ve let the packs down, Luna. We need stability and strength, and I’m afraid you’re not providing that."
