Her mind was no longer clear, her surroundings blurring as she struggled to reach Little Ran. Then, as if in slow motion, she saw the flaming hover shooting down towards little Ran, the loud screech of the car, and the smell of gas, chemical, and metal overwhelming her senses. Her mind instantly cleared and as if awakened from a long, confusing dream, Qing Yue dashed forth with a speed she never imagined she was capable of. "Little Ran, move!" She used all the remaining strength in her body and pushed little Ran out of the way. Unfortunately, she didn't have the time to move out of the way before the shadow of the flaming hover enveloped her form.

They want to hunt, their prize me. The tunnel comes to an end faster than I remember and just as planned, Caden and I break off from each other. I head into the direction of the center of the forest where the traps we will use to our advantage awaits. I can hear them behind me, their undeniable scent of mud and grass the marking of a Rager. They are drawing close, planning how to capture me and in this moment I realize just how many Ragers there are hunting me. I can feel my heart pounding as six distinctive howls sound and an emotion I have not felt in a long time settles into the pit of my stomach.

Darius ordered, his tone leaving no room for hesitation. We marched behind him as he led us to our next trial. My legs felt like they were made of lead, and all my muscles were sore from the first phase. But I didn’t have time to dwell on the pain. I had to survive. Ahead of us, I could hear the sound of rushing water, growing louder and more menacing with each step we took. When we reached the river, Wait. The river? Fuck! This wasn’t a river. This was The damn Scorching Veil! My heart immediately dropped to the floor.

Instead, a tall maze of steel and vines stood at the center, stretching into the trees beyond. A trial of instinct and survival. The rules were simple. Find your way out before sundown. No weapons. No help. The catch? You weren’t alone in the maze. Mara touched my arm before I stepped forward. “This isn’t about speed. It’s about endurance.” I nodded, tightening my ponytail. “I’ve got both.” She smiled. “Then go show them what a rogue can do.” I entered the maze last. The second I stepped in, the shadows swallowed everything. The air was thicker here, laced with magic or memory—I couldn’t tell.

“The trials consist of three tasks, each designed to test different aspects of Luna capability.” He began listing them, his voice carrying the weight of pack law that couldn’t be argued with. “First: You must survive alone for three days in the Blackhowl Forest. You will face natural challenges, the elements, lack of shelter, finding food and water. You will also face supernatural challenges that we will not specify in advance.” My stomach tightened. Three days alone in territory known for being dangerous even to experienced wolves. Three days where anything could happen and no one would come to help.

he persisted. Klaus sighed in defeat and backed away. "Fine, make sure you bring Rainbow back safely," he said in submission. With that over, I never said a word. I allowed Arnold to lead us away and we began to race through the woods as it was the shortest way to try location. We soon began to see burning light up ahead as we were on higher ground. "That's the place," Arnold announced. "Hurry!" I roared. We were about to run down blindly when a loud blast hit us right in our center. The blast sent me flying off my feet and I landed against a tree. I coughed and groaned hard in pain.

The sound coming from a horror film behind me battered when the thunder strike with the high volume that even the next building can be disturb. "Go to bed now," I commanded and closed the Tv. "Party pooper, the best scene was yet to come!" "I'm not sleepy!" And they started complaints, but in the end, they still follow me and eventually go to their room. I left a note besides Nate to take care of everything while I'm at work. I choosed to walked instead to use my scooter this time, the nighttime in the city is beautiful opposite from the morning, morning is a curse. I hid my hand inside the pocket of my hoodie and starts distracting myself.

They burned—and they were fixed on her. Head Instructor Rhys Calloway stepped forward, his voice like stone cracking. “The Moonrise Trials,” he began, “are not for the faint-hearted. They are not a game. Not a test to see who’s the strongest in combat, or who can throw the farthest punch.” His gaze swept the crowd, cold and unblinking. “They are a reckoning.” Rayne held her breath. Calloway continued, “As tradition dictates, the Trials will take place under the light of the full moon—no weapons, no aid. Just you, the wild, and your wolf. You will be stripped of everything but your instincts.”

I suddenly drop the stone to the ground, followed by my arm and body, as I kneel in a fetal position. "NO! I exclaim. I will not do that! It will be up to him to decide. Destiny will decide! YES!" I grab some wooden logs and stones and start building a labyrinth with several exits, all of which lead to fire and only one to safety. The scorpion, slowly and hesitantly, begins to walk along it. Suddenly we see the scorpion disappear behind the stones slowly, while the fire grows in intensity. We all remain a good twenty minutes in silence looking at the fire and wondering if the scorpion had met the fire, or if it would have suddenly appeared from some exit.

But even they tried their best to make a fastest movement, Selene was more faster than them and every turned they did, Selene's image was gone. Pant! Pant! Jenny and Maine's breath were panting and they stopped for a while. "Let's take a rest first. Maybe she is somewhere. We can look for her later." Maine said and Jenny stooped running with her mad face. "That rude impudent insolence man! Even how handsome he is! Those words are the same!" Jenny angrily shouted that made Maine to wince again. "Let's go and find my best friend!" She added and they ran again until they reached the last room where stair toward the rooftop was located.
