I’d gotten my revenge. There was no one left to interfere with my matebond with Victor. We could finally start a family, just as we’d always wanted. I could—— ——— ‘What a predictable ending,’ I thought to myself, dropping my phone onto the bed next to me. And to think I’d thought this werewolf web novel would be different. They really got me excited in the first half, believing maybe the storyline would be unique, but it turns out it was just the same as the others. How many of these had I read now? Fifty? A hundred? Did I even care anymore?

Axel’s POV Watching Nova in pain was driving me and my wolf crazy. But when she was done shifting I was in awe she was the color of the whitest of winters with only a crescent moon in black on her chest. When I finally saw her look me in the eye I felt something snap. It was like a rubber band on a wrist. “Mate” we said simultaneously in the mind link. I wanted to mark her right there right now but our wolfs were already pouncing around getting to know one another ,so I mind linked nova “I’m glad you are my mate” “ me to” is all she replied with we left the mind link open so we can both laugh at our wolfs antics. I don’t even know her wolfs name.

The shelves stretched to the ceiling, filled with books that looked like they hadn’t been touched in years. I walked slowly between the rows, running my fingers along the shelves until I found the section on werewolf history. I grabbed a few thick books that looked promising and carried them to a quiet corner table near the window. The light was soft there, golden and peaceful. I let out a breath and opened the first book, skimming through chapters on bloodlines, first shifts, pack traditions… stuff I probably should have known already. I’d only read a few pages when someone pulled out the chair across from me.

The governess asked, as she was running short of words because of the shock and the surprise at the same time. “I am just alright, Mercy Aunty. Just that I have gotten stranded on the island. My friends betrayed me and abandoned me over here. I am staying in the mansion of a female werewolf and am safe so far, but then I am scared that any of the werewolves might devour my flesh anytime.” Ella said.

The air thickened with foreboding, heavy with the stench of death. As he rounded the corner, his worst fears materialized. Blood. Carnage. Bodies. Nicholas's vision blurred, his mind reeling in horror. His pack members, once strong and vibrant, now lay lifeless, their bodies torn and battered. The mansion's entrance, once a symbol of safety and refuge, had become a gruesome crime scene. Before him, the lawn was strewn with the lifeless bodies of his loyal werewolves, six of them in total. The sight was a grim testament to Levi's brutality.

Randy said. I snorted and reclined on the bed. "I don't know why my main readership is male, and they've requested me to write harem. But if one of the female leads were me, I'd report the male lead for bigamy!" Randy chuckled, "Skr, ruthless!" Having spent significant time with Randy, his delayed graduation had its merits. He stumbled upon my forgotten novels, and his favorite happened to be the one I wrote years ago. The sky, previously murky, suddenly turned pitch black as heavy clouds loomed. The shelter's lights had long ceased to function.

I settled into a quiet corner, hoping to lose myself in the story. The book started like any other werewolf novel, talking about full moons and shifting. But then, I turned the page and my breath caught. There was a picture. Not the usual handsome man turning into a wolf, this was different. This wolf was massive with glowing red eyes and thick, dark fur. The caption underneath read, “Cursed Alphas.” It looked… powerful. Intimidating.

“Yeah, I am! I really like it here. I feel safe, and all my loved ones are here. I love my life back home too… but maybe being between my own kind is better and safer for me and Morganite. Well… at least until I find my mate…” They both share a look, then smile back at me… What is that about? “Sounds perfect. I truly believe you were meant to find your way back to us and be here.” Mama Lil says to me in her gentle loving voice, placing her hand on top of mine. The rest of the day I spent with them.
