Frozen Heart (the Heart Series, book 2)

Frozen Heart (the Heart Series, book 2)

The stone floor was covered with rugs. “Why is it called the Great Library?” Ayla asked Milton in a low tone. “Even the Royal Library from Myrthana is bigger.” “This is only the first floor.” He pointed to a staircase that led to a lower level. “There are many more floors beneath this one.” “Why is this called the first floor?” “When the Fire Monastery was first built, the Great Library was only on this floor. With time the Fire Mages started collecting more tomes, and they needed more space. They made the next floor beneath this one and called it the second floor,” Milton explained.

Bound To The Cursed Lycan

Bound To The Cursed Lycan

THEODOSA. The library on the east side of the palace grounds had better light than the other two I'd been through. That was about the best thing I could say about it. I'd spent the better part of an hour going through the shelves and the situation was not promising. Educational texts, mostly. Dense ones, the kind with long titles and no pictures and the particular smell of books that had been sitting on shelves for decades without anyone opening them. There were some old human archives near the back wall that were interesting in the way very old things were interesting, but nothing I could take back to my room and read on my bed without falling asleep inside the first chapter.

The Lycan King's Affection

The Lycan King's Affection

I found a library when I opened my third door in the hallway. When I stepped into the library, a sense of allure washed over me. Cliche maybe. But the air felt heavy with the scent of old parchment and magic, and the shelves were lined with dusty tomes probably filled with ancient knowledge. The dim lighting cast a beautiful mystical ambiance to the whole room, too. The library itself was a sight to behold, with towering bookshelves that reached up to the ceiling, their wooden frames adorned with intricate carvings of arcane symbols and sigils. Candles flickered in sconces along the walls, casting dancing shadows across the rows of books.

The triplets who claimed me

The triplets who claimed me

So would we. We headed straight for the old library. It was one of the oldest rooms in the fortress, hidden behind thick oak doors reinforced with iron. Shelves stretched from floor to ceiling, filled with centuries-old books, scrolls, and ledgers. Silas walked directly toward a cabinet tucked into the far corner. "I'll need everything related to the noble houses," he said. Lucius frowned. "You have something in mind?" Silas unlocked the cabinet with a rusted key hanging from the wall. The hinges groaned as the doors opened. "I do."

The Rise Of The Last White Wolf

The Rise Of The Last White Wolf

Raiden was running out of time. I stood up from my chair. “I’m going.” Zayden pushed back his chair. “So am I.” Together, we left the dining hall and made our way through the palace. Neither of us spoke much during the walk. The silence wasn’t uncomfortable. It was heavy. The palace library occupied nearly an entire wing on the lower floor. Massive wooden shelves stretched from floor to ceiling, filled with centuries of journals, records, histories, and forgotten knowledge collected by generations before us. Few people ever came down here anymore. Most preferred digital archives. Some things, however… Had never been transferred.

Bride Of The Vampires

Bride Of The Vampires

It was a fate far worse than death for any hunter. In the next minute, she rushed over to where he'd been spotted, pulling the huge mahogany doors that revealed a library. She gasped, mouth wide open, she marveled at the room that held several antiquities and books that spiralled from the bottom to the top in a fancy shelf-like staircase. She walked over to the shelves, running her hand through the books stacked neatly, captivated by the breathtaking ambience she found herself forgetting the reason why she'd come in the first place, picking one that had ‘Medieval vampires and their bane’ as the title.

At least not now. Stepping through the heavy wooden doors of the medieval library, I was immediately hit by the scent of old books and musty parchment. It was a smell that I had come to associate with knowledge and learning, and I couldn't help but feel excited at the prospect of discovering new insights within these walls. It wasn't as big as the one we had in Porthove but it was sizable enough.

The Vampire's Flower

The Vampire's Flower

I walked towards it as I pushed the grand doors and entered the Royal Library. The library was magnificent, with towering mahogany bookshelves that reached the ceiling, filled with books of every size and color. The room was lit by tall candles, casting flickers of light on the books and illuminating the dusty corners of the room. At the center of the library was a grand table, surrounded by plush chairs, where ancient scholars and advisors often discussed matters of importance for the development of Eleneas which was nothing but a castle in the midst of lush green forests.

The Passion House

The Passion House

I hear him say. We follow the twelve people walking us through darkened hallways. Our shoes and feet clanking on the bloody red carpet floors. We turn around from one corner to another until we reach a large wooden door. One of the 12 people opens the door and we go inside it. It is a huge medieval library that has a huge window on the side and a wood table at the center. The lights here are also turned off and the moon still provides illumination to us all. Slowly, they take off their robes. I see Jane walk towards the table where a mess of books lies on top. She takes a book and looks at me.

Where Wild Things Roam

Where Wild Things Roam

“You know, triumvir. Now that we’re here, we have access to my library.” “Oh, bright Arianrhod! Look at this place!” I breathe, standing motionless in the doorway behind her. The library occupies half the cottage, both lower and upper stories and except for a few small windows and the door, is lined floor to ceiling with books. I walk around the room slowly, my hands skimming reverently over the spines, reading the titles where I can. I recognize Latin, Greek and the romance languages, but there are books here in cuneiform, runic, a least a couple different types of hieroglyphics and even what I assume must be Chinese.
