Mesmerize Me

Mesmerize Me

Every time I shifted position, a sharp tingling ran through my muscles. Paul hummed from time to time. A familiar, insistent melody that scraped against my nerves. I couldn’t remember where I knew it from, and maybe that made it worse. It sounded like an echo from the past that refused to fade. Then the metallic sound of a bolt shattered the monotony. The door.

Melancholy of the Sea

Melancholy of the Sea

I felt a hot liquid flow from my eyes and run down on my cheeks. “N-No…” I finally voice out. “Y-You were lying.” “I am sorry Meri. She loves you and she’s calling your name before she finally closed her eyes.” “No, you liar! Momma is not dead!” I shouted and made some of my schoolmates look in my directions. “She told me she will watch me get the trophy again.” “Your grandmother will have a wake at the chapel near the Green’s mansion. I’m sorry.”

Summer Waves

Summer Waves

He was convinced he would die that night. His feet got tangled in his net. The strong waves made it impossible for Carl to free himself, and he drifted, battered by the waves, losing control. In his resignation, Carl saw something glowing swimming toward him. It weaved gracefully under the water, with a blueish glow, looking beautiful. When it got closer, the creature's hand reached for Carl, but it wasn't like a human hand. Between its fingers were delicate webs, and its nails were long, like claws that seemed capable of tearing through anything. It cut the net, rope entangled around his leg.

Mist

Mist

“Sinclair.” The woman working as hostess of the restaurant showed us to our table, and I was pleased when I saw that Adelie’s table wasn’t too far from ours, and that she could see me. Jake sat with his back to us and Adelie watched me as I pulled out the chair for Melissa, and sat down next to her. We ordered drinks and Melissa broke the silence first. “So, Paul hasn’t really told me anything about you.” I tore my eyes away from Adelie, and looked at Melissa. “There’s not much to tell. I keep to myself, go to work, study, rinse, and repeat.”

Naked Scripts

Naked Scripts

Bioluminescent eyes (dozens of them) blinking up at the sky like he’s asking it why. His voice slides into my head, soft and ancient and so, so tired. Help… me… I don’t think. I just act. I’m Melissa Ward, thirty-two, keeper of this lonely lighthouse for six years, and I’ve never been more sure of anything in my life. I drag him somehow, God knows how up the spiral stairs, one tentacle wrapped weakly around my waist like he’s trying to help. He’s massive, easily twice my size, but slick with seawater.

Bound to the Capo

Bound to the Capo

Mel rushed to open it, walking right through me like I wasn’t even there. “Damn it! What took you so long? Is it done?” he asked… Elysia as she stepped inside. She was carrying what looked like… a bucket? The same bucket she heard before she gutted me. “It’s done,” Elysia replied, placing the bucket on the table, and it was the same bucket with my heart inside. “Finally,” Mel replied, taking the lid off, and that’s when I heard it beating. My body moved as though pulled by a magnet, and I took slow steps toward them, drawn by the sound. “Are you sure it’s not going to stop?” he asked, now looking at her.

I Am Nothing Like You

I Am Nothing Like You

Melissa looks at us and sighs. "This is not going to work!" She says. "Everybody, get back." We look at her and then follow as she says. Melly closes her eyes and looks at the sky. The beasts charge towards her. "MELLYYY!" I scream. Melissa screams hard and just as the beasts surround her, a big lightning bold fires from the sky killing all them. Their bodies fall to the ground and Melly stands there gasping. She looks at us and smiles. We all run to her and hug.

At first I was a bit confused by the different characters appearing all at once. I will like to suggest if the author could create a scene break to signify a change in the scene, maybe a( ***) in the middle will be just find. Above all, I enjoy reading the book. Keep up the good work!

Redeemed by the Ruthless Alpha

Redeemed by the Ruthless Alpha

Mel coughed as she sat upright and grabbed Alec's hands to drink more and Alec and I smiled, knowing it was a sign that she was still fighting to survive. When the water touched her dry throat and she realized where she was and the people around her, Mel’s eyes suddenly filled with life and it glimmered from the light of the fire dancing inside the cave and whispered, “You came back for me…” “Silly… of course, I will come back for you, Mel!” Alec pulled her into an embrace and Mel couldn’t stop sobbing on his chest after she lost control of all the fears and despair that had been. I let them have their small privacy and left the cave for a minute while I gathered more water for her later.
