It neither can be changed nor can be manipulated. They are just spectators and not a part of memory. "I hope Levi is alright." Adi muttered. "COME OUT MOUSE. NO USE OF HIDING NOW." A sinister voice echoed in the basement. Their eyes settled on Ana who shuddered. She shut her eyes tightly. "RAT IS BRAVE EH? DON'T COME THEN."

🥀 MELONIE'S POV 🥀 Silence descended, everyone I had injured stayed rooted to the ground, and the man I just brutally slaughtered, lay lifeless on the ground, his ripped-out heart still beating on my palm, dripping with blood. Suddenly, I clasped my head which was throbbing with a sharp ache. As I struggled to understand the situation, a wave of memories came flooding back to me. At first, they were fragmented and disjointed, like pieces of a puzzle that refused to fit together. But as the moments ticked by, the memories began to merge, forming a picture that made my blood run cold.

I said and looked at Acquirer while giving the menu list. "Make it 2 large size bowls of ramen and soda. Thank you." He said and smiled at the waiter. I rolled my eyes a bit. "So what happened?" I started the conversation. "Um, there's some strange thingy in my mind. A memory. But I can't recall. Like something that it was a soldier thingy." He said and I felt scared a bit. Not because of the story but because of his tone of telling a story. "Wait! Please change your tone cuz it's a bit creepy. It scares me." I demand him to do it.

A blinking message pulsed beneath the projection: ‘No data file corrupted. Partial memory loop active. Play sequence?’ Damien hesitated. And then: yes. The room darkened. The projection began. A young man stood in a sterile lab, shirt soaked in sweat, eyes wild with confusion. He looked like Damien—but leaner, younger, eyes devoid of the weight Damien carried now. Voices echoed. “You’re not him. You’re better. Cleaner.” “Why do I remember things I’ve never lived?” “Because you are the memory.”

I even remember that Peter let the merman out as if his mind was being controlled! ‘But what happened after that? Why can’t I remember a thing?’ I tried to recall the missing memories between going to the reservoir and waking up on this hospital bed, but the only memory I could remember was the merman climbing in through the open cabin door and the conversation with the woman in the dream. All the memories in between were missing as if they were erased.

“Oh dear, oh dear. I'm sorry on his behalf. Please don't take it personal okay....” my mom said softly patting AY on the back. “Why is he so rude to me?” “That’s how he reacts when he sees a stranger or should I say visitor...” “But I'm not a stranger; I'm his best friend for crying out loud. Why can't he remember me. Why do you have to apologise for him I don't understand?” AY asked; tears welling in her eyes. My mom gave her an intent look then finally uttered. “Amnesia.”

Susan said. I glanced at the woman, Susan Owens. Huh? Why did the name Susan sound so familiar? Let me think… At that moment, Mom and my two brothers paused in their actions simultaneously. "Oh, she's one of Dad's mistresses. As expected of a scumbag like him… He has mistresses everywhere. However, Susan's already this old. Why does she still have such a strong libido? The strange man was doing something to her mind. Just when they got to the memory where the two men came to drag forward, she heard ‘Damon’ a distance away, shutting down the memory before her eyes. A little relieved, she tried looking away but the man was persistent, the sensation at the back of her head increased and the memory before her showed the exact time Damon knocked her unconscious. She had to ask him why he did that. Why would he knock her unconscious out of the blue? But the man wasn't satisfied because the sensation got more irritable, releasing her memory right before her eyes again and this time it played backward.
