“I’m s-sorry *hiccup* I won’t try to run again *hiccup*” Kayla pleaded when she saw him coming towards her like a grim reaper. Her chest rose and fell rapidly as he closed the last of the distance between them, backing her into a corner of the room. She closed her eyes and covered them with her palm, unable to endure his dark gaze. He curled his fingers around her arms and pulled them back, but a frown set on his face when he saw that her eyes were still closed. “Look at me Kayla...” he demanded, his voice thick with the need to see her golden-brown orbs. He let go of her hands and cupped her face. “Open your eyes...” he tried a little gently this time. Kayla ever so slowly lifted her eye lids, giving him the sight that he had been deprived of. A rare smile flitted on his lips when his eyes collided with the most stunning pair of pearls that adored the girl that he had become obsessed with. “Will you *hiccup* p-punish me?” she asked. “For what you did, you deserve a punishment. Don’t you think so, Malyshka?” he smirked as he caressed her bottom lip with his thumb. Even even before she could say another word, he picked her up and threw her over his shoulder, gaining a surprised yelp from her. “W-what are you *hiccup* doing!?” she felt scandalized to be hanging upside down on his muscular torso. “You’ll find out soon enough” he stated coldly and strode towards the bed. And upon reaching it, he transferred her onto the mattress. “And now for the punishment...” he muttered as he leaned onto the bed and hovered above her, sending a cold shiver down her spine.

Merida was a certified black sheep of the family. She loves to hear her grandmother's story about fairies, dragons, pirates and princesses and her favorite was the tale about the legendary pirate named Escarial, and a Princess called Athalia. Listening to her grandma’s folktales was her routine all throughout her eighteen years of existence. That’s why when her grandmother died without having at least a last talk with her, she turned badly depressed. She didn’t go to school at all, and just stayed in her grandmother’s room to lock herself away from the rest of the world. Three days after her grandmother’s funeral, strange things happened in her room. The painting her old woman often gazed on suddenly moved and glowed. She succumbed to it, helpless, and had nothing to do to save herself because of the force that was beyond overwhelming. The next thing she knew, she was in North Sonnenfield. What’s more shocking to her was the name she’s called as by her servants; Princess Athalia—the heir of the throne, and the only daughter of King Eldar of North Sonnenfield. She was in awe, because she remembered that King Eldar was the character in the story. The palace where she found herself lost was the same place where the brave princess who ventured the dangerous sea had lived. She loves being in a Sonnenfield. However, she knew to herself that the day will come when she would wake up from a dream. But life always has a twist because Captain Escarial came to the scene. She expects that he will be gentleman just like pirate captain in the book. But to her horror, this Captain Escarial is snobbish, rude and proud. Oh, how she hates him!

Merida has always just tried to make it through the day without drawing any unwanted attention, given she is about to face the scariest thing in her short life. The man she once loved, who tried to kill her. Only now she is faced with a new revelation. That there are other individuals that want her dead, all because of who she is. Yet who is she? For she doesn't think it is the 14-year-old human girl, nor are her friends who she thought they were. Nothing is as it seems! Not even her family! Plus, there is the strange new man in her life, who promises to never leave her side. As well as this dark shadow that seems to follow her everywhere and in every ERA.

Even though we live in modern times, the coven seems stuck in the Dark Ages. As the heir apparent to the throne, Zalindra is under pressure to marry in order to maintain the lineage's strength. Seriously? That feels so out of touch with today's world. Her true passion lies in honing her skills to protect the coven. Romance? Not a priority for her, let alone marriage.
