We watched in awe as she fluttered gracefully, leading us to a hidden meadow filled with vibrant flowers. In this magical meadow, we discovered a group of fairies engaged in a whimsical dance. Their graceful movements and melodic laughter filled the air, creating an atmosphere of pure joy. We couldn't resist joining in, twirling and spinning with the fairies, feeling the magic coursing through our veins. As the sun began to set, painting the sky with hues of orange and pink, the fairies bid us farewell. They gifted us with a small vial of sparkling dust, assuring us that it held the power to unlock hidden secrets and grant wishes.

If it didn't kill us, that is. All good things come to those who wait, and when you're a fairy and your mate is a deity, you have all of the time in the world. It's interesting trying to make that work amongst humans. Water fairies tend to travel with the open water and the location depends on the season. It makes it a little easier to appear like we moved away for good, only to come back and find out the humans have forgotten about us for the most part. It's amazing what a name change and new hair do can accomplish. If we happen to get recognized, we hear the 'you remind me of someone' or 'you look familiar' lines, just for us to shrug it off and act clueless.

The mermaid dissolved into water and was no longer in sight. Then, shortly after that, a swarm of blue butterflies with glittering wings came forth and circled above her head. She squinted her eyes and noticed that those butterflies were fairies. Her eyes widened in surprise but nothing came out of her mouth. “Welcome to your abode. We have been expecting your arrival,” one of the fairies greeted her warmly. The fairy transformed into a little girl about the age of five years old. Her eyes were light green and her hair was blonde. But, her expression was so serious and unfriendly as there were no smiles on her face.

Both Torin and Cadac were laughing at me. "What?" I question them both. Torin turned me and my eyes widened at the numerous fairies fluttering about. "Fairies are real?" I gasp. "Yep, you drank fairy wine and now can see them for the night," Cadac chuckles. I smile and give him a hug, surprising him. Fairies weren't tiny either; they were the same size as an average human. I nodded at several and they giggled at me. This was too cool. "Be careful of the unseelie ones, they are dark-haired and, " Cadac stops mid-sentence.

To say I was in shock was beyond an understatement. A minute later several small creatures came in and immediately put out the fire. They thoroughly cleaned everything up as if it hadn’t happened. I looked at my dad with a questioning face. “There are varying types of fairies. Brownies, sprites, elves, gnomes, pixies, nymphs, selkies. Some have to do tasks or they get assigned to watch over someone as a godmother. They have to accomplish their tasks to move on to the next phase of their existence, some become angels, some fallen fairies are demons,” my dad whispered.

The older fairy waited before she was sure her voice wouldn’t quiver, “They will have to. At least, to keep up their image in front of the Realm.” Emae’s face twisted in worry, “I’ve never voiced it Mertha… but I’ve never trusted them with Half-Myths. They- seem cold.” Mertha bent down to call out. A few moments passed before they heard the footsteps of a creature run up to the door. It stopped, it’s powerful wolf-like body waiting, tongue out and panting, for the Fairies to fix a duty for the animal to do. “Daffodil.” When Mertha spoke, her eyes glowed.

Some had delicate wings folded against their backs, transparent and shining like glass. “Woah,” Jace whispered, his eyes wide. Celina elbowed him. “Shut it. But…yeah…woah.” He leaned closer, lowering his voice. “I mean look at them. They don’t even walk, they glide.” “Shush,” she muttered again, but her own eyes were just as wide as his. As the group of fairies entered, the hall seemed to grow even brighter. A soft wind stirred the air as small glowing orbs floated in, moving like fireflies above everyone’s heads. They gathered in the center of the hall, forming a ring of light.

It was stunning enough to take my breath away. She lifted the hem of her dress and gracefully twirled. Happiness was written all over her face. “Zach, do I look beautiful?” “I can’t give you a wedding, but the first eyes to see me in this gown are yours.” She crouched to reach for my hand. I coldly pulled my hand back. “The one you’re marrying isn’t me. It’s Lance.” Lance was jealous. He reached out and pulled Sienna into his arms. “Why’d you make him do this? Sienna, I won’t be happy if this ceremony isn’t flawless.”
