The air is thick with smoke, sweat, and the metallic stench of something slowly dying. Nathan Kingsley, barely twenty, fell into depression due to failure after failure in his life. He sits slumped on the edge of the motel bed, pale and drenched in sweat, his pupils blown wide. His limbs twitch, jaw slack. He’s barely conscious, lost to whatever cocktail he shoved into his veins. From behind the closed bathroom door— BANG. BANG. BANG. “Nathan! Come out. You need help!” Her voice is cracking. Desperate. Angry, but scared.
