Outside, the morning air is bright and cool. The garden stretches wide across the hill, every row alive with green. The men—the omegas who tend it—straighten as I arrive. They bow slightly, their hands still stained with earth. “Luna,” says Will, the eldest among them. “You’ve brought help?”

Thalia I felt the watchful gaze of the park members as I stepped forward. The air shimmered with anticipation as the full moon rose over Greenwood Park. The central clearing, normally used for council meetings and celebrations, had been transformed for the annual Mating Ceremony. This year I've been picked by the Moon goddess to meet my fated mate. My wolf growled happily just at the thought of him. Lanterns floated on invisible strings, golden petals danced in the air, and every unmated wolf stood in formation under the watchful gaze of the Moon Goddess wishing it was their mating ceremony.

The gold light sputtered and died. "I can't fight it," I said. "I'm jammed." "You don't fight," Mom said, stepping in front of me. "You recover." She looked at Maya. "Maya. Can the garden fight? Maya shook her head, weeping green tears. "The roots are scared," she whispered. "They won't touch it. It hurts to touch." "Then we use metal," Mom said. "Keepers! Heavy weapons!" The soldiers on the walls opened fire.

The flower radiated a power that seemed to pulse with life, its light casting a mesmerizing aura over the entire glade. As they approached the Moonflower, a mischievous sprite named Lirael materialized before them. Her eyes sparkled with mischief, and her wings fluttered playfully as she hovered in the air. "Welcome, travelers," she said, her voice like the tinkling of bells. "I am Lirael, the guardian of the Moonflower. You seek its power, do you not?" Xienma nodded, her voice steady. "Yes, we do. We need its magic to confront a great evil."

Tiny flames rose, not red, but gold — soft, cool, living. And from those flames, green shoots began to grow. Plants unlike any ever seen — their leaves shimmered faintly, their blossoms glowed like lanterns. The people gasped. Kaela only smiled. “They are called Fire Gardens,” she said. “They remember warmth.” The gardens spread quickly across the city, and wherever they grew, people gathered to rest, to talk, to love. Even at night, the golden flowers never went out. They burned without consuming. They lived without fear.

However, based on the footage that they got from the cameras on the cars, there were more than a dozen enemies, and all of them were armed with silver bullets coated by the moon herb. “Gio, three of them were wolves and two of them were human. None of them even reached the age of thirty and they’re dead. They died protecting me,” she said as he saw her eyes turn a bit red. He wasn’t sure if it was from the tears that were trying to get out, or if it was from the rage building inside of her. “Sotto Capo Anastacia Pantazis, shut the hell up!” Anastagio announced in a booming voice that made Ana feel like the room shook for a split second.

She staggered, clutching at her chest as light burst behind her eyelids. The world tilted—and then vanished. She stood in a field of endless night. Above her hung no stars, no moon — only darkness thick as smoke. But out of it rose a soft glow, forming into a figure cloaked in silver and shadow. The air shimmered around her, humming with the power of a thousand storms.

Agent Hernandez whispered to Amy as if he was a doctor. “I was inside a game,” Amy uttered her question through her weak voice, trying to remember. She stared at Agent Hernandez with some light returning to her. “I remember you. You’re my colleague and you’re not human. I make fun of you, calling you my little Astro Boy.” Amy smiled a little as she ran her slender fingers across Agent Hernandez’s chin.

"The Moon Goddess has chosen. This is Astra, my mate and your Luna." Not a single person clapped. Someone at the back booed. "She is a rogue," a woman yelled. Her beautiful face was twisted with hate. "A nobody!" "Silence, Selene," Alaric ordered. "The mate mark doesn't lie." He grabbed Astra's arm and lifted it, showing everyone the crescent moon and stars that marked her as his. The mark glowed blue under his touch. "I don't care what the mark says," Selene continued, stepping forward. Her long red hair swayed as she moved. "She doesn't belong here. She'll never be my Luna."

It was then that the Luna tentatively raised her hand. Gratitude warmed my voice. "Luna, your willingness is a gift." Her memories unfolded before me – a relentless suitor repelled, her initial fury upon discovering their fated bond, and the bitter realization of his philandering past. Then came a shift, the joy of motherhood, the tranquility of her gardens, her life blooming. "Your gardens are a testament to your spirit, Luna," I mused, my voice soft but clear. "Their story is one I'd cherish learning by your side."
