Lovelyn's Pov I watched as Maya rushed out of the ward. "What just happened?" I asked as I faced Michael. "That's Maya for you, when she likes something, she chases after it till she gets it" he replied. "I've packed all our belongings so let's get going". "Hold on" he replied and brought out a mask then he wore it on his face. "What's with the mask?" "For people not to recognize me" he replied. "Seems your arrogance has reduced a bit" I said and he glared at me.

The next day- afternoon. Only Scarlett and Michael remained at the Hayes residence. "Time to go." She knocked on his door. A minute later, he emerged. Covered from head to toe. White bucket hat. White mask. Long bangs hiding his eyes. Heavy trench coat despite the heat. Scarlett pointed outside. The sun was blazing. Cicadas screamed in the trees. "You're really going out dressed like that?" I couldn’t see his face or that of any of his counterparts as they all wore some kind of mask that covered their entire face leaving only their eyes visible. “I said get up now” he commanded again, this time at the top of his voice jerking me off the ground and out of Michael’s arms. I heard a whimper somewhere in the congregation as I was roughly pulled up. “Everybody stay calm and no one gets hurt” One other masked guy shouted from one corner of the room. I started walking towards the direction my captor propelled me. The tear that had been threatening to fall finally rolling down my cheeks. Why is this happening on my special day? I thought to myself.

As much as the thoughts caused a hollow depth in him, he felt the relief and the comfort that came with knowing your sanity will soon be yours.
