I turned quickly, grabbing bottles and mixing the drinks with practiced ease. It only took a few minutes before I carried them back over but they weren’t sitting in their usual spot. Instead, they’d taken a table off to the side, tucked into a darker corner that gave them a clear view of the entire bar. It was… different and strategic but Mike, he wasn’t relaxed. ” Gabriel hooted, causing victorious howls to fill the restaurant. “Keep it down! Will you?” Rico ordered chuckling. “Stop making her jealous!” Gabriel snarled at him. “She’s gorgeous, isn’t she?” Rico asked, his question caused another round of hooting. “For starters…five glasses of LaCassa wine.” Rico announced handing Deki the Menu. “We don’t serve those in glasses, Sir.” “Deki!” Rico snarled warningly through the mind-link while maintaining his calm facade. “We’ll have five bottles then.” Rico informed him calmly and turned to Tiana,“You haven’t ordered anything,pup.”

I added. “Do you want to be specific with the drink or should I carry on with the task,” the server asked while I glanced through the menu. “Umm… For tradition, give us sake and mugicha. Ramune, yuzu lemonade, and Sakura spritzer for modern. And for cocktails, Sakura martini, and Tokyo mule. Also add an extra plate for each,” I said lastly. I wanted to trust him with the drunks, but I also wanted to order big.

“You got all the stuff?” Aidan nodded. “Yep. Triple sec, cranberry juice, fresh limes. I even went out and got a cocktail shaker and the right kind of glass.” He displayed it for Jax, who blinked at it in astonishment. “It’s called a martini glass. Very elegant, no?” Jax nodded back at him, not having a clue what the hell else to do when confronted with fancy glassware. “Yeah. Nice.” “Uh-huh.” Aidan was amused. “So, you think she’ll show?”

I clear my throat because her hand print is now searing on my shoulder. "Second cabinet on the top," I say in a rush. I go to push the bridge of my glasses up and over my nose but my fingers fidget with nothing when I remember that I am not wearing them because I was planning on going to sleep. By then it was too late and the calligraphy sensei, an old man who looked like the mythical tortoise Genbu, which had been around since the creation of the world, glared at her from above the thick frame of his rivet spectacles. The glasses were basically magnifying lenses riveted together (hence the name) and were better-suited for scrutinizing the faint underwriting on the pages of dusty tomes in the Imperial Library. We said goodbye and I headed to the address Nick had texted me. There is a huge mirror in one corner of the room resembling Klara’s and to it’s left has a three foot tall wooden table on which a 360 degree spectacles holder rack is placed. The old man sat down and poured out a few drops of the wine. James looked at the wine glass made of crystal clear jades set in front of him. The wine poured into the glass was a milky white in color and seemed to emit an ephemeral white glow. The wine’s pleasant aroma wafted into and tickled James’ nose.

The bartender, a tall, dark-haired man with piercing blue eyes, greeted me with a nod. "What can I get for you?" he asked. "Just a whiskey. Make it a triple. Wolfsbane." The bartender poured me a glass of whiskey and handed it to me and left. I took a sip, drumming my fingers on the table. "Whiskey," a familiar voice said behind me. "A double."
