Mike The engine of my Ferrari roared, devouring Chicago's black asphalt. Every sharp turn was an insult, every acceleration a challenge thrown at this shitty night. But fear clung to my skin, a cold sweat that speed couldn't dry. The image of Tara, of her empty eyes and that hypnotic blade, haunted me. Fuck. She'd gone insane. A real lunatic. And that look… It was no longer my wife's look. It was a predator's. I needed to forget. To prove to myself I was still a man, that I still dominated something, someone. I took out my phone, fingers trembling with contained rage. Nyah. She was always available, always impressionable. She didn't look at me with that chilling contempt.

Terrifying brutality lurked in my eyes but I was trying the best I could not to kill the fucker. Yes. I had more than enough money to get the goods, but it would be a waste if I let him live after squandering my money on useless materialistic things. Milano snickered, his breath ragged and his lips swollen from the punches I lodged at him earlier. “You won’t let me live even if I told you.” Dark thoughts, like cutting him open and feeding his body to some wild dogs were slinking and prowling around the edge of my mind, but I pushed them aside.

If this doesn’t get me checked into a mental facility, nothing will. And I just happen to be the one he came to with that insane proposal. What do I do? I flip to the subsequent entry, but my eyes hurt from using a flashlight to read, so I close the book and try to get some sleep. It’s going to be a long night. Thoughts of him permeate my mind. Being his fiancée. Affluent people are complicated as fuck, but I would finally get out of this tiny shoe box. If I pass it up, I can’t trust the asshole to not find an excuse and fire me. Lord knows he has wanted to do it since he laid his eyes on me.

She lay back, breathing hard, trying not to cry. The low grumbling voice momentarily snapped her from the pain. "Well, guys, what do we have here? It stinks like a dog and it's stupid enough to get caught in a wolf trap. It must be one of Nicolas' pack that escaped when we killed the rest of those sniveling mutts." Mandy stared at three enemy cats, and wondered if her life could get any worse. ***

Sir Brak is telling me how Master Xaulfur decided to live there since his bloodthirsty, possessed nature will not let him mingle with other humans. “And does it help; the seclusion?” I ask as Sir Brak opens the front door to usher me. Katelyn once made me picture Japanese buildings to be low and thatched, but with my eyes, I could see that the demon lunatic adopted Australian-styled buildings—not what I expected to see. “Seclusion does little or nothing; once in a while Xaulfur bursts out of his den and attacks. Thankfully, we have the witch, Marretje, to keep him in check.”

So I uploaded it immediately before my brain tried to betray me again. Will there be a Book Three? Well… maybe in a year, maybe in a month, maybe never. Emma later went upstairs to her brother's room. James' room was filled with things that he had insisted on carrying from Mina's place. He adores his things and wishes to take them with him wherever he goes. Emma faked a gasp seeing the room. On the bed, the blankets were covered by plushies and coloring books while color packs were laid on the nightstand unevenly. Mina had spoiled him a lot. Emma began to organize her brother's belongings. She placed the plushies on the bed, and neatly stacked the coloring books and packs on the nightstand. When she finished, she stood back and felt a warm wave of nostalgia wash over her.
