A bird falls mid-flight, hollow as if drained from the inside. Kojo tries to reconnect, but Mira flinches at touch. She begins to write everything down obsessively — journals, drawings, names she doesn’t remember learning. One evening, she looks up at the river and sees her own face in it — not her reflection, but her — standing in the water, smiling. Skin Between Worlds Mira returns to the shrine, hoping for closure. But it's vanished. Only twisted roots remain. A torn strand of red twine hangs from one.

“Mira. The Keeper of forgotten promises and failed hope. What do you want here?” Mira ignored her. Her eyes looked at Liora, Ash, and Kael. "I am Mira. I keep the old promises, the ones made before this evil took over. And I am here because there is always a choice.” “A choice between one doom and another,” Drysana laughed, a sound like shattering ice. "A choice between bad and worse,” Drysana laughed. “A choice to break the cycle,” Mira said firmly. She held out her hand. On her palm was a small, beautiful wooden box. It glowed with a soft blue light that fought against the red glow of the cracks.

“You think the two of us can sneak into that evil kingdom and find the Heart of Magic without getting ourselves killed?” A flash of images from the future shot before her eyes. Nya saw herself riding into Beelzanborg on the dragon’s back, landing in the dark, and infiltrating the castle. She saw the gem in her hand, the dragon in chains, a choice to be made. “Yes,” she said. “I know we can do it.”

It was Mira. Her posture was tight, her movements too cautious, like someone trying not to be seen. I frowned, watching her for a heartbeat longer before stepping directly into her path. “Where are you going, Mira?” I asked calmly, though my eyes narrowed. She jolted, her eyes wide for a heartbeat before she schooled her features into something more composed. “To the training yard,” she replied smoothly. “Rowan instructed me to train harder.” I cocked an eyebrow, my gaze sliding down to the cloak she wore. Hardly training attire. I folded my arms.

Just as she left, Mira came out of her hiding, she walked towards the well, and with a grin plastered on her face, she kicked the bucket and the contents fell, she made sure she threw the fetcher inside the well before she felt fulfilled of her mission. “Hmmm, done. Let's see if she will come out of this,” she mumbled and dusted her palms off the sand. Then she turned and walked away, feeling victorious. She has always had a bad aura for Aurora, working for the queen, and Xena makes things easy for her. Now, she wants to find the masked girl before anyone does. She raised her shoulder, feeling on top of the world, as she strolled back inside the palace. 🥦🥦🥦🥦

Miguel stood next to me with a worried look on his face and a glass of water in hand. Kira panted heavily, receiving the glass of water with gratitude. After taking about two full glasses, she inhaled, holding my gaze. “Mira was behind the kidnap.” She said I stared at her looking dazed, “what does Mira have to do with all of this?” I asked in disbelief. “She did that to serve as a warning for me to stay away from you. And I must say, I really underestimated her.”

Our lives are in danger, and maybe, just maybe, that will make him do something miraculous. ‘You got to do something!’ I cry. ‘We are dying!’ Liam’s face twists with pain - he knows I’m right, and suddenly, without warning, one of the ghouls attacks us. It bites Liam’s wings while another screeches and goes for my tail, digging it’s nail into it. I whimper in pain, but there is absolutely nothing I can do. ‘Aurora!’ Liam screams through the mind-link before his eyes start to glow in a bright blue color.
