Chapter 57 Scarlett’s POV I quickly slipped back through the hidden wall panel, navigated the dark passage again, and pulled the mirror shut behind me just seconds before I heard footsteps down the hallway outside the bedroom. I sat on the edge of the bed, crossing my legs, resting my hands in my lap, and forcing my breathing into an even rhythm. The bedroom door clicked open. Nino came in, looking exhausted, his hair messy and his shirt stained with dark grease. And behind him stood the man I had spent the last six hours praying wouldn't die.
