Omega Bound
I drop the last ladder as my boots land on the floor.
I find dry land and put him there.
“I can't fight what I am,” he whispers. “I can't.”
A tear slips down his cheek. He looks immaculate even with our present situation.
The scent intensifies again, but now it's thick, sweet, and heavy. Above us, the hounds start barking, the Omega heat has peaked, and boots slam against the pavement.
Voices shout commands out to the hounds.
They are genetically engineered wolves bred by the academy, creatures that can smell a drop of blood.
