Chasing My Hockey Alpha
I’d lost sleep for days,weeks maybe.
I rubbed the back of my neck and took a breath, trying to shake off the unease crawling under my skin.
But then, I saw it.
My reflection blinked,once, twice, out of rhythm with me.
My heart stopped. I froze, my pulse hammering. I raised my hand slowly, and the reflection followed… a moment late.
Then it smiled.
I didn’t.
A slow, crooked grin stretched across its face, my face, but there was something in it, something wrong. Its eyes gleamed darker than mine, sharper, mocking.
