My Delicious Mistake

My Delicious Mistake

I applied a bit of foundation to my face and fixed my thin bangs. “Of course, it’s my last day as a single woman.” I smiled, and I caught a glimpse of the sparkle in Ate Angie’s eyes from the mirror’s reflection. “We’ve prepared so many surprises for you from me, Kara, and Angeli.” My lips curved into a grin when I heard Angeli’s name. Angeli is one of my close friends because she’s my fiancé’s best friend. Ate Kara and Angeli were classmates in college. Angeli introduced me to Hubert, and she was also the one who almost orchestrated our closeness.

Ellie says looking shocked and deeply hurt, "Mommy I thought..." "Shh baby," Missy quickly cuts her off, "Let me finish. Six Years of Misplaced Love

Six Years of Misplaced Love

Now I realized love wasn't something one could force, no matter how much they gave. His heart was a stone, impossible to melt. ... When I dragged myself home, weak from the miscarriage, Milo lounged on the sofa with a newspaper. "Give me a massage," he said, not looking up. I ignored him, sinking onto the sofa to rest. He rubbed his forehead, annoyed. "I'm sorry, okay? Last night was Jessica's birthday. I couldn't ruin her day. I'm beat. Can you just be reasonable for once?" I used to feel bad about how hard he worked, so I learned massage to ease his tension. Every evening, I'd massage his shoulders and do everything else to make him comfortable.

Miss CEO's Bodyguard

Miss CEO's Bodyguard

She muttered slowly. “I really miss you. I know the last time we met, it was a dark time for us. And I'm really sorry, because I can no longer talk to you directly. Jane, you are my best friend. One of the best. I know, if I haven't been of much help or anything to you all this time. I just wish it would be different now. Henry and I will fight for you. To be able to get justice for your death. We promise. Sooner or later things will get better, and... you will get justice. At least, that's the price I have to pay for what happened to you, Jane. Even at the last moment you still think of me. Then how can I not give you what you deserve…”

Misrouted Courtship, Misjudged Mate

Misrouted Courtship, Misjudged Mate

Taking a step back, she completely broke down and screamed hysterically, "Ian, if she's the only one you hold dear in your heart… If you never intended to be with me, then why did you kiss me? Why were you so gentle to me?" A trace of regret flashed through Ian's eyes. He felt irritated and remorseful over his momentary foolishness. Still, his tone remained frigid. "That was a moment of weakness on my part. My thoughts were clouded by alcohol, and I held on to that ridiculous lingering regret in my heart. As a result, I did something utterly foolish. "I won't be with you, Nadine. I only had a slight fondness for you. It wasn't love at all. This entire thing was just a misunderstanding. From

THE GOODBYE HE MISSED

THE GOODBYE HE MISSED

Told him I was coming back. She pictured Adrian standing at a headstone once a month for five years, alone, saying her name to a man who couldn't answer — carrying a version of her he never brought into their meetings, never traded on, never mentioned until the moment was his to choose. Not a performance. Not a strategy. Just a man keeping a promise to someone he'd loved, somewhere no one was watching him keep it. That, she thought, is what love looks like once it's had five years to become only itself — stripped of the marriage that broke it, the guilt that trailed it, every reason either of them once had for walking away. The cab turned onto Michigan Avenue. Nothing yet marked her face. Bu

great start..concise with nuances. hope it would end the same way. not tooo many chapters that the main characters became watered down with so many side stories. i'm reading along slowly... so that i don't have to wait for updates. keep up the good work, dear author!

I want be clear when I say that I really like the story. It is engaging & draws you in, keeping you needing more. But if I never read the words "specific" or "particular" again, it will be too soon. About 60% of the sentences where they appear can be read without them & carry the same impact.

A Misguided Love

A Misguided Love

At a gathering with friends, my boyfriend, Donovan McPherson, suggested we play a game of “I Have, Have You?” The winner would get to make one request of him. Everyone there knew I had been trying to get him to make me, Celeste Campbell, Mrs. McPherson for five years, and for as long he had not obliged. Now they all assumed he was giving me a chance. So, tacitly aligned, everyone held back to let me win. But his childhood sweetheart, Lily Kensington, would not relent. “Donovan watched the first snowfall with me. “He gave me a scarf he knitted with his own hands. “The tattoo on his wrist is my initials. “His passenger seat is permanently adjusted to fit my height.” After those four, I had onl

Love Misunderstood

Love Misunderstood

She heaved a sigh while refueling her lungs to continue, “but, of course, I met my wonderful Sir Caldwell.” Turning to Stephen she smiled, “Lord Carlson, might I introduce the latest addition to our household? This dear young lady is Miss Elizabeth Nottingham. Soon to be Mrs. Moore, I might add. We are planning her wedding this very moment. ‘Twill be a grand affair... the grandest in Georgia, if I know my Matthew.” She gestured for Elizabeth to join them, “Come Elizabeth, come in and meet our guest.” Elizabeth was dumbstruck, frozen in place. This could not be. How could this be? He was dead. They told her he was dead. Emotions whirled around and through her until she could feel only the ai
