Broken by One, Desired by All
I leaned in, my lips pressing against his in a kiss that was soft but demanding, my hand sliding up to tangle in his hair, my grip firm.
Ash stiffened, his body jerking back, his hands coming up to my shoulders like he was going to push me away, but I held him.
"Kiss me back, Ash," I whispered against his lips, my voice low, my tone warning. "We’re in the presence of so many people. At least be cheerful."
For a second, he hesitated, but then his lips moved against mine, his kiss short, perfunctory, his body tense.
And then he pulled away, his breath coming in short, sharp gasps, his eyes dark, his expression unreadable.
