I turned around slowly. Freya stood near the doorway, holding a digital chart against her medical coat. She was twenty-three, a junior neuro-researcher assigned to my mother's private floor. She was breathtaking in a quiet, effortless way, with long, dark hair tied back loose, warm almond eyes, and a soft, genuine smile that seemed entirely out of place in a world dominated by grief and cold tactical calculations.

As we entered her cottage, she turned to look at us and smiled wistfully, as if she already knew what had happened. As I stood there, trembling with fear and uncertainty, Seer Freya approached us. She took one look at Melina and I could see the concern etched on her face. She placed her hand on Melina's forehead and closed her eyes as if searching for something. He turned around to me and smiled, then got his phone out of his pocket and put it to his ear. “Tyler?... Because Freya's here now and I want her to hear everything. A shiver ran down my spine and I’m not certain it was a bad one. “Freya.” I replied straightening my spine. “Mmm… What a powerful name, Freya.” He said with small moan. My body full blown betrayed me and instantly butterflies began dancing in my stomach. “I’m sorry we met under these circumstances, Freya. I can’t fully explain it but I feel drawn to you. Did you put a summoning spell on me?” He asks. “I don’t use summoning spells.” I scoff, rolling my eyes. ”They’re timing is unpredictable and I’d prefer not to have a random monster show up while I’m in my apartment. Although somehow you’ve found me anyway?”

The hatred I harboured for her ran deeper than marrow, though she remained blissfully unaware of the contempt that festered within me. Freya was the antithesis of everything Lyra had been. Where Lyra possessed peace and soft femininity, Freya was all calculated smiles and hollow perfection. The cruel truth wasn't lost on me—ridding myself of Freya would prove infinitely more challenging than casting aside Lyra, my true mate.

“Why would you be here? If you don’t love him… why stay?” Freya tilted her head to look at him, the ghost of a smile in her eyes. “I’m Luna, honey.
